I trying to configure a DIR-655 as a base and a WRT54GL w/V24 pre-sp2 as a wireless repeater.

I can get V23 sp2 to work as a client bridge, but that does not have the wireless repeating mode that I want.

Here are my settings:

DIR-655
IP: 192.168.0.1
DHCP Range: 192.168.0.30-49
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
SSID: dlink
Security: WEP 64-bit (shared)

WRT54GL
IP: 192.168.0.31
DHCP:disabled
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
SSID: dlink
Security: same as DIR-655

Does the 'repeater bridge' mode require any special settings different than the 'client bridge' mode?

Anyone have suggestions as to what to try?

Thanks,
Nate

I would try setting security to WPA2/AES. I'm not sure why some of the security modes don't work properly with DD-WRT, but I've found WPA2/AES to best the best.

Also...move the GL outside the DHCP range...you want it to be static DHCP not dynamic....try setting it to 192.168.0.25 or something like that.
