I can pretty much reproduce this:

- Debricked using serial console (absolutely no luck using TFTP)
- Flashed 12307, worked fine.
- Flashed 12412, bricked again (insofar as DD-WRT will just reboot during startup)

I use the 610n as a client bridge using the 5Ghz band and have no reboot issues at all. The problem is only why both bands are used at the same time. You can use either the 2.4Ghz or the 5Ghz radio on their own with no issues.

I have been trying to accomplish this also. I had it working with 2 610n's one with stock linksys and one with v24-sp2 /06/05/09 mega build 12262 with the 2.4 ghz but I cannot get it to work with 5 ghz.My wl0 antennae does'nt list wireless "NA only" or "A only" so I assume you have to do this with wl1. I have tried "NA only" with that antennae with wl0 disabled and "A only" and I can't get it to work. A site survey doesnt show any networks.Incidentally even with the 2.4 ghz set up I get dropped connections. I'm trying to wireless bridge for an xbox 360 and lately it has been really bad for dropping connections. When it does this restarting the 360 does nothing but all I have to do is pull up the status page from the computer upstairs and everything starts to work again ... kind of weird. Has somebody seen this b4 and can you clarify my stupidity for me Smile (by the way it is not rebooting and I also only activate one antennae at a time)

This is giving me some hope that if I just keep trying, eventually TFTP uploads may flash/come up properly.....if anyone else gets success this way, please do post about it!

The way I do it is setup the TFTP tool with the info needed IP address and .bin file. Unplug the cord from router. As soon as you plug router cord back in and HIT Upgrade button. Works for me every time on my 600N. It should take more than a few seconds for the firmware to load. If it only takes a few seconds to say Successful, usually it has not been done right.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try doing it that way.

This is because the WRT600N doesn't have the same CFE bug as the WR610N.

You are correct in that the site survey does not work for the 5Ghz band. But, you don't actually need to use the site survey to get a client bridge running. Just set the SSID for wl1 to the same SSID as your host AP 5Ghz radio... Use NA-Only on wl1 with wpa2/aes. Give that a shot.

Finaly.... after years of experience with Linksys routers.....

HOW TO RECOVER WRT610N

- plug power in
- wait 1-2s
- press reset button
- keep pressing for 5s
- open your browser at 192.168.1.1
- upload new firmware

Timing is crucial. And some routers I've seen must NOT have any lan cable plugged in for this to work. Plug it only after you released reset button.

Please confirm on different 610ns!
If this works for you... please add to Wiki

EKO's simple solution worked for me , I have debricked my 610n with official firmware.. Very Happy Very Happy

First I tried with LAN cable plugged but did not worked for me..

LAN cable wasn't plugged while reset is pressed. Management mode was activated and could easily flash the official firmware (1.00.02 B10)

Thanks EKO

Do you have a .12 or a .16 CFE?
