After sorting out the UART pins, the console revealed an Arcadyan OEM'ed WG7005-22 with 2X16MB storage.

N.B. Belkin also marketed this box as F5D8236-4_v2

Your RAM chips are 8MB ones so 16MB in total which also matches with what the 8236-4v2 has.
The flash chip is likely on the other side of the board, 8236-4v2 has only 2MB which makes it unsupportable.

My bad for using an incorrect format for flash memory specification - flash_size x word_size_in_bits / memory_size x word_size_in_bits.

New 21061 build not working! To be more precise it is working right after reflashing. It stops working after first reboot, serial console shows that everything boots as usual (as I can see), but there is no network, PC can not acquire network address.

I had this exact problem also! I flashed from console to 21061 and couldnt get LAN activity after first reboot. I had to use the laptop to webflash 14896 and then the LAN ports worked.
21061 needs to be removed from download area until fixed!

FYI for anyone wanting to flash a newer version than 14896 I have successfully flashed 23320 from this link.

Cancel that, LAN ports initally work but the unit keeps restarting on both 23320 and 23503. Back to an earlier version that was stable.

Sorry to dig up this old thread.
I bought a wl342 at a flee market recently and thought it would serve well as additional router between my modem and the local network.

Installing dd-wrt gives me some trouble.
I have no multiple install/flash options. Just one.
Being :

Code:
Please choose the operation:
1: Load system code to SDRAM via TFTP

Running this option and uploading the dd-wrt image work fine until the dd-wrt kernel boots.

After installing the last build it works until i made changes on the config... like the password, then it crashes.
Do someone know which is the best build for this one?
Thanks a lot!

You have to flash it with a usb ttl adapter first. Once you get ddwrt on it, you can use the webflash files.

Thank you in advance

Try the first 3.
Rx
Tx
Gnd

You don't need pwr.

Should work.
If not, since you are not using pwr you won't fry anything.

Talk of the four holes with written by J2?

In this case the first three holes starting from the top or from the bottom?

With pwr you mean to giving power to the device?

Yes, I mean from J2 from top to bottom in that picture.

By pwr, I mean the 3.3v pwr pin from the usb TTL device.
You will still need to plug in the router to the power 110/220v power outlet.
