There were some overly excited over optware Asus users wandering around the wiki for a while...thinking that everyone would want to install optware because THEY thought it was cool.
Optware instructions should be on their own page. Install instruction should be basic flashing only.
I went ahead and edited those pages and just provided a description and a link to the Optware Wiki... _________________ Optware, the Right Way

Completely rewrote the DIR-330 wiki. Only has info relating to that router now. Added detailed step by steps that have been tested. Added JTAG info and links. mpf

I added a statement to the "wireless bridge" wiki indicating that there was more up to date info that does the same thing on the "client bridge" wiki. I also removed changes that were made by another to the client bridged wiki from what I had originally created, after a user indicated that those changes did not work. _________________ Warning: I'm "out of my element!"

The wiki for Motorola WG850G (v2) suggests using SP1 and according to the peacock thread means it is out of date.
Are these instructions safe to follow or should I wait for an update?
The tftp instructions look ok, could I use those instead?

That reference is actually so old it is for v.23 SP1. It is actually v24 SP1 that is the problem. You could safely follow the wiki and then upgrade.
With the change in the directory structure MANY of the links for downloading firmware will no longer work. As people discover these broken links, it is important to fix them using the new directory structure.
Line with link: Navigate to the folder that you are using, and select dd-wrt.v24_mini_wrt54g.bin
Also, Peacock thread says do not use build 13064 recommended in hardware database, follow the install wiki instead. This install wiki page says to use 13064.
And I don't understand why there are two different sets of instructions on that page.
I am a dd-wrt noob (but fairly experienced with routers)and have spent over 2 hours reading the hardware database, the Peacock thread and the install wiki, going in circles, and still don't have any idea what build to installon my old wrt54g v2. Is this normal for dd-wrt?

Link fixed, don't pay any attention to the flashing instructions below "Old Wiki" _________________ Peacock Thread-FAQ -- dd-wrt Wiki
