Hello,

I just got a Netgear WNR3500v2 router, which unfortunately sucks, so i wanted to install DD-WRT on it, it is in the supported hardware list, however i cant seem to find any .chk/.bin files for this router.

anyone knows if there is one or if there will come one anytime soon ?

Well, I have test firmware here, based on mini dd-wrt, but you will need serial console to recover in case it doesn't work.

It is not yet well tested... works on my wnr3500v2 though.

Let me know if you want to try it.

Well, not the same as far as I know - half the flash, no usb.

I'm not sure...please open it and check this:

- what is the CPU?
- what is the flash size?
- does it have USB?
- what is the code on sticker inside, like U12H136T00 or U12H127T00 ??

Can you point me to the original firmware?

Yep... I have the build for it.... Smile

Man I just returned this router today because I didn't see dd-wrt support! Laughing

Guess I'll be heading back to the store tomorrow to get another one. The WRT160N isn't cutting for me. The range is awful compared to my WRT54G v2.

Out of curiousity, what are the specs on this router (mem/cpu/etc)?

Com2: What build are you using on your WNR3500v.2

The TX on these units really rocks:

360mW (b); 834mW (g); 843mW (n)

Two SiGe 2597L Power Amps installed.

So does the firmware in the provided link work with the WNR3500v2, or only with the L?

The new build is not yet updated in the Router Database?

Also are any other builds other than mini available?

Hi there.

I have some problem with my wnr3500v2 with wireless and original firmare, i'm suffering high latency in a small range :(

So, I want to try DD-WRT.

What's the most stable version at the moment? Is the latest one in the router database?

Thanks to all Wink

I have not tried 14311 K2.6 yet (which is what the routerbase is offering now), but with that unit, you'll need this to do the intial flash from the netgear webgui.

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/12-28-09-r13525/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-13527_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-WNR3500v2.chk

After that, do a hard reset, then once you have dd-wrt on that unit, you can use standard .bin files to update.

2 links in my signature you need to read is "Peacock Thread" and "Firmware recommendations" link, these will help you familiarize you with dd-wrt.
