Thanks for the fast answer,
I updated with the r23598 version but it's the same (one bug less) see the screenshot

I think it's the configuration i do : AP repeater?

if it's a repeater - then DHCP comes from the primary router

I'm running 25697 and I'm experiencing drops with the WiFi. I setup a constant ping to the default gateway and it runs great until I put a load on the wifi, like trying to open this website. Then I get packet loss. Do you think I should downgrade all the way to 23598?

Turn off the turbo mode? IE set the channel to Auto or 20hz instead of 40hz?

I went back to r23598. I haven't seen anything to suggest that the wifi drops and turbo mode problems that have been around since that version have been fixed.

Do you see wifi problems? It sounds like we think that in version 23720 there was a wifi problem introduced?

EDIT: I see there is a sticky about wifi drops. Mine happens when I put a load on it. Just a ping -t stays stable.

I have very few, if any, issues of any kind with this router. I'm having more problems with my modem that is only in gateway mode than I am with this DD-WRT build.

doesn't that pre-date the heartbleed fix?

No, that is a few versions after. I made sure of that... Smile

edit: The heartbleed fix was r23320 I believe.

I'm trying to make a access policy as described here but it seems services like gre, openvpn and ipsec are missing from the service selction list.

Anyone has an idea to add them or is this a kernel limitation?

hey guys, using a dir-825 Hardware Version: B1 Firmware Version: 2.05WW

Flashed back to dlink firmware last year due to web browser being slow/unresponsible at times. Had to reboot router many times to solve this problem.

My question is, is this problem still ongoing? Does any1 face this issue? Where can i get the latest dir-825 ddwrt firmware? I used to get it from http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/D-Link_DIR-825
Much help appreciated.

edit: is it this? ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/04-09-2015-r26653/dlink-dir825-revb/

This is the version I'm using. You'll have to look at the threads for more recent versions to determine if the problems that followed this version have been finally fixed. But for me, this version is good.

edit: I just took a quick look at the latest thread, and it looks like newer versions are still having some of the same issues that lead me to revert to this version.

this router is basically dead that its still on kernel 3.5 which is end of life, ull notice that k3.5 doesnt get any changes anymore on trac, when/if ath9k gets fixed, it wont get them, unless done manually which it seems the devs arent doing.

ive since reduced mine to a guinea pig unit..this needs k3.10 minimum (which is going EOL this year too..)

Well, r23598 is good, and unless there is another heartbleed type fiasco, there's no reason to upgrade to a more recent version until you replace your router. This has been an exceptionally good router for me, and hopefully I'll have no reason to replace it until I do a full network and system upgrade, sometime in the next few years.

Kernel 3.5 that is used for the D-Link DIR-825 B1/B2 had last update in April 2014. The more serious WiFi dropouts of ath9k were solved in January 2015, but only K3.10, K3.14, K3.18 and K3.2 later in March, got the update. Check the changelog in my signature to see the commits with ath9k fixes.

Unfortunately, any router on K3.5 didn't get those fixes.

All routers with 400+ MHz CPU and 8+ MB flash should be migrated to K3.18. But no, we still see 30+ commits dedicated for updating irrelevant stuff like Asterisk. Well, maybe in 2016...

k3.10 that more than a bulk of supported routers are using goes EOL this year, i doubt serious bugs with it will be fixed by then, then a ton of users will really be in for it..kernels are manually updateable but thats not being done to 3.5..
