I followed the instructions.. performed the 30/30/30. Changed my ipv4. I go to the firmware update page. It gets to 100%. The bottom of my web browser says "waiting for 192.168.0.1" or something like that. The yellow light on the router is always flashing slowly. It never seems to reboot. The globe never lights up.
I manually powered it off and back on so I could get internet working again and here I am. It goes to the DLINK page shows up with my firmware 2.09NA. All my settings are still in there.
What could be going wrong? How long after getting to 100% am I supposed to wait? The first time I waited like 2 minutes and nothing. The second time I only waited a few seconds, before unplugging and replugging power so I could come post here.

just use the emergency loader method then. unplug it, hold reset button, plug in. wait till the power led is flashing orange.
plug in a pc by ethernet, set a manual static ip on the pc to 192.168.0.4, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.1. open browser to 192.168.0.1 & upload the FACTORY file, na = north america, ww = worldwide (aka eu mostly), tw = taiwan depending where the router was bought. _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Similar to the above post, I follow instructions, got the "Firmware Upgrade System Version 1.0.0.2 Date 2008/12/25" screen, upload the NA firmware variant (chrome shows upload progress), but after that, the router does nothing--no progress count or anything--just the flashing power light on the router and the same "Firmware Upgrade System" screen. Occasionally, I get a "Incorrect hardware ID image, Please check !" about every other attempt, but still no progress. At least it reboots without losing the original settings.
I tried a dozen times (using Chrome, IE, Edge, the "webflash" firmware, etc.) but gave up. Perhaps it's simply time for a new router. Anyway, if others have this problem, you're not alone. It may simply be a waste of time.
Anybody has tried latest build on DIR-825 ?

I just converted my Dir-825 B1 to DD-WRT with no problem. I used the "Factory to DDWRT(NA) bin file. (I don't think the web flash version is to be used for the initial conversion to DD-WRT.)
I did use the 30-30-30 reset before doing the conversion from the Dlink firmware to the DD-WRT firmware.
I used the bin file V3.0-r30880 dated 11-14-2016
By the way, this is my first DD-WRT installation. I decided to do it because DLink was not issuing any updated firmware versions for my router.
Also read the relevant build threads here on the forums.
Avoid the latest build, 31221, it should not have been released. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

any help is appreciated...
P.s. is there a post showing the best setting for this router on ddwrt?
tried many things but nothing cleared the firmware...
found an old backup I had, restored it and now I am back to normal as in my 2.4ghz works, the wifi security is enabled
I ended up on Dec 16 2016 rom...
still no idea if I can reset this router or not but it is working so I am done messing .. would like to know how to reset it for next episode
I'm currently running this router as an access point and I am trying to get a USB printer connected but I can't seem to get it working. I've tried a number of how-to's and can't get anything to work.
Is there a specific post in this thread or does anyone have any pointers?
The version I'm on is:
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (11/07/14) std
(SVN revision 25279)
Is there a better version for USB printing that I can update to?
Edit: I've updated to the most recent beta, still cannot connect to the printer.

I am also interested in knowing what the most current, absolutely rock-solid stable version is for completely vanilla usage of the router.
I have a DIR-825 rev. B1 currently on v3.0-r27506 (07/09/15) std with kernel version of Linux 3.10.83 #5656 Thu Jul 9 01:44:18 CEST 2015 mips.
In all honesty, the FW that I am currently running has been running quite silky smooth and stable. However, every once in a while, I'm still finding the need to have to reboot the router. So just wondering if any updated version is even better than r27506.
Just a suggestion, you can always read the build threads in this forum. I have a DIR-825 rev B1 that I update and use. I do not use the wireless as much as others, so I do not test that as much, but since I use it for media network I do use it heavily for routing and isolation.
