im new to this and want to install dd-wrt on my linksys wrt54g version 2.2 router. i checked the install page on the wiki and it said to read the peacock thread on this forum which i did and that post said you have to do a hard reset. do i need to do that when i install dd-wrt or after? it does say to do it before and after you flash the firmware is that the same thing? that kind of confuses me.

Yes, you want to do the full 30/30/30 reset before and after flashing.

That erases any settings/variables in memory so that when you flash the
new version, it doesn't encounter any old settings.

It makes it MUCH less likely to have a bad flash.
