Hi,
I have successfully installed dd-wrt in a Linksys Wrt54g v8 before, and now I plan to install it in a WRT54G V5.
Following the install instructions for versions 5 and 6 (dd-wrt wiki) I have noticed that the procedures are quiet different from v8. First, it doesn't use VX_WORKS_KILLER_v04, and it comes with dd-wrt.v24-12548_NEWD_micro.bin, which is not the latest build.
I would like to know if I can change the file dd-wrt.v24-12548_NEWD_micro.bin to dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin (v24 preSP2 [beta] build 13064) during installation. Would it work? Or better off install the old one and then upgrade?

Thanks for your reply.
I wanted the 13064 build in the first place because it appears in the official page (http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database) as the recommended download for my router.

I agree with NXIL. Read the peacock announcement. You will see why. Stick with 12548 for now.
The "official" page also has a link to SP1. _________________ SIG:

Thanks guys.
Indeed there is a explicit recommendation in the peacock announcement:
"BS12874 or EKO 12548 12874 is working well also. At this time, 12548 is the recommended build. I have found throughput problems and people are complaining of disconnects with build 13064. I suggest sticking to these recommended builds and not using 13064."
