I know 17201 is the latest build and my question still stands, because I was wondering why it hasn't been added to the FTP site yet.

it is there for me, and I assume those who've already quoted you...? clear your cache maybe? unless you're referring to why there isn't a D2 file? the file has been called just D for ages now.

I reverted to D-Link's firmware briefly recently to test something, but since putting DD-WRT build 17201 back on I'm finding I'm having to reboot the router every few days because the 360 can no longer communicate with it, despite giving it a static lease and the admin page showing the 360's MAC address in the wireless connections list. I might perform another hard reset to see if it fixes it. This build was stable when I put it on before the revert.

Another day, another reboot of the router needed, because instead of the 360 being given the static lease I have specified, it has been given an IP address that isn't even in the DHCP pool or subnet! For example it should be 192.168.x.x, but it has been given 169.254.62.49.

I fixed my weird 360 IP allocation issue. I hadn't noticed Services > DHCP Server > Used Domain was set to WAN and since changing it to LAN & WLAN all is working normally again.

I can't see a new build in either the Other Downloads section or FTP site.

That fix was short lived. The weird IP allocation issue is back.

right now im confused lol.

Ive been reading through all the pages of this thread and theres so much conflicting info lol.

Can someone please just tell me as simple as possible what the best settings they have found for this router to get the best out of the wireless especially.

I have latest version of the firmware and i currently get around 43mb on wireless with Virgin Media.

I have tried 2 wireless adapters, a DLink DWA-140 USB and a Edimax EW-7728In PCI and both get same.

Im pulling whats left of my hair out lol

@Welshchris

I suggest you just flash the 14896 build. Its the last version that got me actually to 300mbps speeds on my laptop and 72mbps on my phone.

Every build since then that I have tried has resulted in 144mbps maximum and 65 or below on my phone. Playing videos sometimes stutters too, which was perfect on 14896. I haven't tried anything in the last couple of months though.

I don't think this bug will ever be fixed in ddwrt, so I might just buy a new router at some point.

I have both D2 ans D4 exact wireless setup both running fw 14896 but on D2 I only get 150 Mb/s where as on the D4 I get 300 Mb/s.

wrireless network mode: Mixed or N-only
