Can anyone advise on the best stable build release for D2 to run on N band only in either wireless or client bridge?

I currently have a D5 (stock firmware) as primary and D2 running build 15778 in wireless bridge mode, but 15778 will only run in G mode 54mbps. It also forces my smartphone into B mode 1mbps when it is N capable!

I could run the D2 in client mode as I only have a PS3 and PC wired to D2, but would like to achieve the fastest possible speed, I have tried setting to client mode on 15778 but it makes no difference to the speed.

Can anyone help with this:
Hi, i'm italian and so sorry for my english.
I have configured my D-link dir 615 rev d as secondary router in my home lan.
This router didn't have direct access to internet but use a gateway.

I try to set correct datetime in order to setup some cron tab events.

I Try:
- NTP server 0.it.pool.ntp.org but don't work
- set date time with direct SSH command, but still don't work:
Code:
root@DD-WRT:~# date 123115052012

Code:
root@DD-WRT:~# date -s 123115052012

Anyone knows if there are some problems on this firmware with the date command?

Thanks!

Tried latest build(r20453) in my D1 and still slow wan to wireless speed. I could not achive over 40Mb/s speeds. plus, i couldn't connect to wlan at 300. Only 150. Even with the code lines to the command area. When reverting back to r17990 I get 300 speed at wireless, but half of the real speed of my wan connection. With length of wire, i can reach up to 100mb/s. I think I'll stick to the 17990 for a time being Sad

this is with r17990.

P.S When moving data from lan to wireless, I get 6-8mb/s speeds.

My router was on 15778, but I tried upgrading to 17201 as recommended by a lot of people in the forums.

My transfer speeds of WLAN->LAN went down from 5Mb/s to 3.5Mb/s tried the previously posted low throughput commands in this thread and it didn't improve.

All other settings were the same (channel number, channel width etc) so I'd recommend staying with 15778 at the moment

My setup gives me also from LAN to LAN just less than 5 Mb/s. I was using the old 15778 and are currently on 20675 without any difference. Does anybody know some tricks to raise the speed up to the theoretically possible 10 MB/s? (NAS usage)

just upgraded my dir-615d to r21286 everything great except port triggers do not seem to work, port forwarding works fine though.

dir-615d main router r21286 (is it normal for main router to have half bandwidth rate 72 Mb/s when connected to repeater bridge?)
dir-615d repeater bridge on r21286

i am happy with this though just the port trigger issue & main router reporting 72 Mb/s when repeater connected.. dunno if its normal i thought the repeater was only supposed to report 72 Mb/s

just wondering has anyone been able to use port forwarding working properly on this? port triggers are not working either, i think if upnp is on then it overwrites the static port forwards, i manage to get a port forward working to my device connected to a repeater dir-615

Hey,

I'm far fropm a network expert but I managed to easily flash my old router with the latest dd-wrt firmware. I also followed a tutorial to set it up as a repeater to increase coverage of my wireless network (virgin media superhub). As far as i can see i have set up everything correctly. The only think I am not really sure about is the local IP address I configured int he Network Setup section - I set it up as 192.168.2.1 (virgin hub ip is 192.168.0.1.

Either way when I switch on the configured dlink 615 I can see the new SSID but when I connect I do not get any internet access. Is there any advice any can offer?

Thanks.

Scott.

1. Open up the router administration interface (DD-WRT)
2. Head to ADministration -> Commands
3. Enter

Code:
iwpriv ra0 set HtTxStream=2
iwpriv ra0 set HtRxStream=2
iwpriv ra0 set HtBssCoexApCntThr=10

And submit (on all devices with that specific "low throughput" @ N problem.

btw I'm not sure whether 300 Mbps (270) are provided in mixed mode or in "N only" only.

Can anyone please tell me what are these commands about ? (quoted from page 65; they supposedly enable 300 MB/s mode instead of the default 150 MB/s for the 40 channel width mode). What is this set of commands actually doing and why isn't it included in the latest firmware builds (e.g. 23320) ?

I'd appreciate if someone would enlighten me on this issue.

EDIT: the commands also appear in this short thread: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=782622
