I'm quite interested in that version. How can I have access to it? Would you be so kind as to upload it to Rapid or other service? I can also give you may email.

on the parallel thread HankChen wrote (if I got him right of what I'm not 100% sure) that it is possible to revert ACEEX NR22/Y router to dd-wrt by just calling some script through the telnet. if it is true, may it be possible to flash this "DX" router with ACEEX firmware and then run this command in the shell? the hardware of two is pretty the same, but accex seems to have twice RAM than this one.

No problem.

What puzzles me is why it is so difficult to get it from Ralink. This sdk should be freely available for anybody who needs it.

If someone have the Ralink QA test program for RT2880, please upload it as well.

Thanks in advance.

I found the Magic code is the starting 4 byte of the firmware image.
The boot loader will check the magic code, header checksum and data checksum.

Your boot loader magic is not "27051956" but, mine router and dd-wrt firmware magic code are both the same "27051956". Though my boot loader magic code check pass , my router is still in problem.

I retry to upload Buffalo WHR-G300N firmware that I remove the file header via web upgrade.

The dd-wrt runs OK ! and the reset button works, but the WPS button is not supported.

My router : PLANET WNRT-625

Thanks all.

I found WHR-G300N and WNRT-625 WAN/LAN port mapping is different.

WHR-G300N is LLLLW
WNRT-625 is WLLLL

I add command in "Administration/Commands/Startup"

switch reg w 14 405555
switch reg w 50 2001
switch reg w 98 7f3f
switch reg w e4 3f
switch reg w 40 1002
switch reg w 44 1001
switch reg w 48 1001
switch reg w 70 ffff417e

to reset WAN/LAN mapping on startup

29 downloads so far of the Ralink AP SoC SDK Version 3.3.0.1. I just wonder if it was useful, and what you have done with it?

My unbranded router (from dealextreme - sku.29662) is running DD-WRT.

1. I flashed it with Aceex NR22/Y firmware (http://www.aceex.com.tw/download_firmware.html).
2. I don´t know exactly, but i tried flash it with firmware.bin and Aceex-NR22-webflash.bin from dd-wrt.com... but i got error messages (corrupted firmware and so forth).
3. Login with telnet.
4. I belive that now is possible to find /sbin/ddwrt.sh in the router.
5 ping google.com to verify internet access.
6. run /sbin/ddwrt.sh and wait the telnet session to be down.
7. Now the dd-wrt (an older build) is running... just update it to a newer build.

I dont know how ddwrt.sh was there, but it worked for me.

If you don't need any of the fancy features DD-WRT offers, just stick with the Aceex firmware. I tried DD-WRT on my routers, but I was not impressed of the wireless throughput. I'm not going to use the DD-WRT firmware until I find out why throughput is better with the Ralink firmware.

Maybe it's some settings, but I don't know what it can be. There is one setting in the makers firmware that made a big difference, and it is the following.

HT TxStream = 2
HT RxStream = 2

I couldn't found this setting in the DD-WRT firmware, but if I set it to 2, the troughput dramaticly suffer. I changed it from the default number 1 to 2, and I instantly got much better throughput. Take a look at this screenshot when I bridged two units with WDS. I'm also quite impressed of the response time when I pinged the unit from the other side of the wireless bridge.

I don't know if this reply was meant for me. However, what do you mean with "ddwrt wont run out of the box since of the ram"?

Do you really need one RT3052 based unit? I'm sure that I read somewhere that Brainslayer have at least two of them on his desk.

I cannot find it, maybe it was another chipset like atheros. I only remember that he wrote something about bad hardware, and that he have two units on his desktop.

However, Buffalo WHR-G300N v1 and the routers I have are basicly the same thing. I would be very surprised if the firmware does not work on any single chipped RT3052F router.

I can say that the firmware I tried worked very well, it even used less memory than the original firmware. The only thing I did not found was a way to set HT TxStream and HT RxStream. Maybe it is named something else in the DD-WRT firmware. However, the correct settings for this type of unit with two antennas is the following.

HT TxStream = 2
HT RxStream = 2

This setting is also recommended by the maker. I just found out by trial and error.
