open NAT for xbox live

i can connect to the internet now...i think the problem was because my landlords router had the same 192.168.1.1 so i had to change mine to 192.168.1.2...as i said i can get on the internet now but when i try to set the xbox up it goes through everything says it is connected but my NAT is strict. i have tried to turn on Upnp as well as port forwarding. neither works. also i set a static ip for the xbox and put it outside the DMZ but then i run into problems with my DNS. what do i set the DNS to or what else could i change to open up my NAT?
