Asus RT-N16
Hello,
I know you waited long time for it... here it is now.
Get it from usual place, V24-K26/svn13297, use dd-wrt.v24-13297_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N16.trx for first upgrade, then use any .bin (I recommend "big" build for this router)
You can simply use GUI to upload trx file; or tftp in recovery mode (press reset button, plug power). Restore to defaults after upgrade.
Revert is also simple: rename Asus's firmware to .bin, and use dd-wrt GUI to upload (be sure to select restore to defaults).
USB doesn't work yet. Would be nice to enable this feature with priority.
Well, USB works, but automount doesn't (this is the problem with all our 2.6 kernels).
You simply need to mount drive yourself. _________________ Professional debrick service for EU countries for small fee.

As with all build threads, please post your experiences here with this router and this build, both positive and negative.
This thread is for reporting what they have found with this build, and people should note that this is a TEST build, that you can put on your router and test the build. If you are not familiar with basic flashing of routers, you likely should not use this experimental build.
If you need assistance with configuring your router, you should ask for that assistance in a new thread. Use this thread to report your experiences.
UPnP appears to not be working properly with K26 kernels like this build. There is a separate thread dealing with that as it goes beyond just this build. Please deal with uPnP in the separate thread.
EDIT This thread is for POSTING your experiences with this build. In order to have experiences, you have to have loaded the build. There should be little need for multiple posts on what you have encountered, although BUILD related discussion is fine. There has been quite a free for all similar to the massive linked thread above. If you wish to ask general questions about this router and what it's capabilities are, and about the hardware itself, please do this on the thread I linked to above and not here. Let's keep this one focused on the BUILD and how it runs on this router. _________________ SIG:

Up and running great so far. This thing is ridiculously fast (Big FW upgrade took less than 100 secs)
Can't seem to get my flashdrive to mount (I've tried all sorts of variations of commands). Waiting for Frater to make sure his Optware is compatible with kernel 2.6...
Also, looks as tho the CPU usage is a problem with all 2.6 builds (like in the WRT320n thread)

Uh, yea...
Wireless speeds are the same for both the WL500W and the RT-N16. Haven't mounted the router where I want it yet to determine range as I am still fiddling with the USB.
Oh, and the CPU usage is still a problem...It starts slowly creeping up after ~ 20mins of uptime all the way to 100% after awhile. Hangs at around 69-70% for 10 minutes and then shoots up. _________________ Optware, the Right Way

I wonder if the CPU issue is being caused by a persistent attempt to load a module of some kind, or logging deamon?
Masterman:
Do you have logging turned on?
Do you have any special Iptables configs loaded on start-up that may be incrementally using CPU cycles, or Loops that are not terminating a process before starting it again.

Just thinking out loud... as scary as that may be
Ok, one at a time here guys...lol..
Frater and I are still trying to get things sorted out with USB.
@jj
I have the traffic daemon running as determined by default settings...Once I get a chance to let the uptime reach a significant point I will see if disabling that daemon has any effect.
No iptables. All settings are pretty much default for right now. I DO have IPv6 enabled, which I noticed is a newer module... _________________ Optware, the Right Way

The cfe is the correct size, but mtd block 1 is only 32MB? Not 128MB?
sda and sda1 is my flashdrive which I still cannot mount, but yet the size is correct... _________________ Optware, the Right Way

UPnP seems to be the problem (as mentioned in the WRT320N thread). When it does work, CPU goes up, when it doesn't I get this:

With NEWD-2 driver you must always include interface in wl command:
