Is there going to be an updated firmware for Asus RT-N13U B1?
DDNS is broken in build 17027. Hopefully it comes with full ipv6 support(including BGP)

They are on build 19519 for the B1: ftp://www.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/ I've been running it as a repeater bridge with a shared USB drive for a few weeks now without a problem. Can't comment about DDNS or IPV6 as I'm not using those functions, but there are so many other improvements that it wouldn't surprise me if those have been included/improved as well.

Thank you very much. DDNS is fixed in 19519.

ipkg install coreutils

cd /opt/bin

ls | grep core| while read line; do newname=$(echo line | cut -d"-" -f2); ln $line $newname;done

the above should all be on the same line. then run sh /tmp/prep_optware again and it now works.

I am trying to get ipkg installed. Can I mount cifs/nfs on a freenas box as /opt?

Where can I find release notes for official builds?

In build DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/20/12) std - build 19519 for Asus RT-N13U B1, I cannot find jffs support under administration and it seems jffs does not work out of box. Am I missing something? The wiki says jffs support was removed for 4MB flash build but it shouldn't be a problem for B1.

When I tried to mount an ext3 partition on a usb flash drive, I see this
"/dev/sda1 on /tmp/mnt/sda_part1 type ext2 (rw,relatime,errors=continue)"
I used the driver at http://home.karneval.cz/10102207/fs.gz, why is the ext3 partition recognized as ext2?

BTW gouryella could you change the code in optware-install.sh so it can detect the gateway address instead of using 192.168.1.1?
Thanks

I'm just confused why firmware's since r18024 are no good? I wonder if there's someone that can be contacted about this?

I believe it's because they are too big. Hopefully someone can fix this soon. I'd really like to upgrade to the most recent build, even though this one is still functioning flawlessly.

Anyone know if newer f/w will ever work on this device (the non-B version...)

I'm running wive-ng on this router for the last 6-7 months and it works like a charm: no reboot, no hangs, maximum speed. Therefore I cannot agree with you about junk part.

Is there an english version of the firmware and can you point us to it? Does it support USB FS?

I have a 3Tb drive connected right now and it seems that there is no support for large volumes? I can't mount a 2.7Tb partition. Does anyone have a workaround or am I sol and need to get a different device?

Ok so I am trying to use ntfs to get a large partition and large filesize support. I have optware installed as well as ntfs-3g but I get an error looking for symbol 'pread64' when using ntfs-3g to mount the partition. Has anyone accomplished this before? Anyone know how to update the ntfs-3g version?

Updated ntfs-3g to a later version but still hitting a 2Tb limit (duh, max supported by MBR), so since dd-wrt doesn't support GPT for my router I guess I am SOL.

My n13U stopped working after about a month and kept resetting itself.

Now when I try and unplug and replug power only the power light will come on. It won't broadcast Wireless, connecting through ethernet gives "No Network Access" - so I cant even get to the router settings.

Hard reset seems to do nothing.

WHats going on here??

I've seen them do boot loops when there's an SSID conflict with a nearby router. Any chance you're trying to set it up as a repeater?

Nearly all report years of service with this model; no trouble, even after flashing multiple FW versions.

Unless it's power- or connection-related, sudden, unattended failure indicates a problem in hardware. Not sure you have 'failure' though...

I have a V1 router. I have been running r14896 for a long time (well over a year). My current status page
shows it has been up for 95 days. I love the compact size of the router.

However, I have had a problem that was bugging me since day 1 - VPN connection (from my laptop to my
work) is bad over wireless. Most of the time I cannot connect. If I do, VNC session is unbearable. However,
everything else over wireless is fine. I cannot understand this at all. I ended up setting up an AP
using another wireless router running Tomato.

Lately, I needed an ftp server so I am looking into upgrading firmware at the same time. I see a few
versions being mentioned lately

r15962 is used by hack_1018 and reported some issue with Transmission, which I don't use.

r16994 is recommended by Wiki, not sure when it was updated

r17201 is used for modded firmware and asusno1 reported it is "very buggy". Not sure what.

r18024 is reported by hunnypuppy as "rock solid" with issue on DHCP / DNSMasq. This is an issue for me as I
have "Use DNSMasq for DHCP".

realdreams reported DDNS is broken in r17027. I use DDNS so it is a concern for me. Not sure what is
broken though.

No version beyond r18024 is available to the V1 so I have to watch what I eat. The feature that I care
about are wireless-N / DDNS / DHCP / SSH / PPTP / port forwarding.

Please recommend a version.

Looks like a no go for me:

http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/2061

DDNS issue from r16994 (inclusive) til before r18024. Then I see:

"The bad news is that 18024 mega breaks *tons* of other things (at least on an ASUS N16). SSHD/dropbear doesn't work at all, QoS is also problematic, PPoE, JFFS and tons of other things. If you think inadyn issue is frustrating, wait till you try 18024."

I don't know if it is specific to mega but I cannot live without SSH.
