Router: D-Link DIR-878 Rev.A
File: factory-to-ddwrt.bin

Attempted to update the firmware from factory stock 1.12 firmware via OEM GUI results in the following message:

Firmware Upgrade failed!

Renaming the firmware to a shorter firmware.bin results in same message.

afaik you cant upgrade from recovery mode if you are on firmware 1.04+, because they added encryption and signing... you need to downgrade first to that firmware that you can get here: ftp://ftp.dlink.ca/PRODUCTS/DIR-878/DIR878A1_FW104B05_Middle_FW_Unencrypt.bin

I've done a nvram erase but the problem still persists.

DIR-882
Reset : Yes
Uptime : 11 hours
Mode : PPOE router

WiFi power limited to 6dbm.

5ghz seems stable.
2.4ghz having issues with clients disconnecting.

Tried to roll back via recovery and IE keeps timing out.

Haven't tried all stock D-Link firmwares yet though.

6dbm is a visual bug only and appears to have been fixed for the next build. https://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/42316

So, it isn't a visual bug. If CLI is reporting the same thing, then it might an issue. What are the results with a good wi-fi scanner?

Ticket and changeset both state otherwise; anyway it's fixed in today's build.
