So I picked up a used WNDR3400 the other day and I have a few questions about it.

When I first powered it on to make sure it worked I was able to see both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz broadcasting. I proceeded to load dd-wrt on it and still seemed to be working fine.

Here is where I run into some issues. I used to have a Linksys 160N running off my modem with a WRT54GL wireless client bridged to it from my entertainment center for my HTPC.

Now I have the WNDR3400 directly off the modem with the 160N running in the entertainment center. I also added a WAP54g to my Blu-ray player in the bedroom to give it net access. Both the 160n and the WAP54g are client bridged to the 3400.

All seem to be working fine except for my PS3 that is hooked up wired to the 160n can't seem to get a very good solid connection (runs fine wireless though)

Also now that I have all three bridged together the 3400 doesn't seem to broadcast the 5GHz band.

I want to be able to use my phone and laptop on the 5Ghz band and the client bridges and my wife's laptop on the 2.4Ghz. Both my phone and laptop have cards that support the 5Ghz band.

Any ideas on these issues?

1. Entertainment center router (160n) not getting a good connection or being very slow to get an IP address and all.

2. 5Ghz band not broadcasting even though it is enabled and named differently through dd-wrt

I also installed the NEWD dd-wrt builds that where designed for this router. I got my laptop with a 5ghz wireless adapter to connect, but there's a ton of tx/rx errors that ruin the wireless throughput. It doesn't look like this build is complete(which is what I expected), the lan leds don't properly change color, the hardware buttons don't work except for the reset button, and the leds under the dome on the top of the router don't work either. Also, from the tx/rx errors and decreased maximum range, even on the 2.4ghz radio, it looks like the radio control software for this router needs work too because it does use a funky antennae setup. Like for example, I'm sitting like 4-5 feet away with my android phone that supports 108.11n and I'm getting 4 out of 5 bars with 34mbps data rate, forcing higher data rates gives more errors Confused

I properly wiped the nvram before flashing and everything, this build just isn't reliable sadly, and I miss my dome leds Sad
