I have successfully set up two WRT160N's following this wiki: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Enabling_VLAN_Support_for_BCM4704.

Problem is, after each reboot lan_ifnames gets reset to "vlan0 eth2". To make VLAN work correctly again, I have to manually type the commands:

Code:
nvram set lan_ifnames="vlan2 eth2" (as needed in my setup)
nvram commit

And this doesn't take effect until I click the "Apply Settings" button in the GUI.

My questions are:

1. Why is lan_ifnames reset (it seems to be caused by firmware init)?
2. What network services do "Apply Settings" restart? If lan_ifnames has to be reset every boot, may be I can set it back and restart the related services via a start up script.

Thanks for helping!

Try using the VLAN GUI page to assign VLAN 2 to the LAN bridge and VLAN 0 to none. If that doesn't stick then try using the Networking page to assign vlan2 to br0.

Did you get that to work on the WRT160N V1?

I haven't looked at the lan_ifnames yet, what where they before you altered them?

And what firmware are you using?

Thanks in advance,
