I'm using an Asus RTN66U router. I'm having the same VAP guest issues as described in another forum post and earlier in this thread. Does this firmware work with vaps for the rtn66u? If not, what is the last firmware for the rtn66u that does have working VAP?

36168, assuming the N66U works in that build; check the build thread. Hopefully it'll be fixed in the next build though.

Try the latest <kong> test build (7/26). <kong> has put in a VAP fix and that works for me.

I tried 36168 with my rtn66u. It's quite stable and noticeably faster than previous builds. The problem however is the vap issue, guest network is not showing up, though unlike previous builds now when I atempt to enable the guest vap it doesn't make my primary 2.4Ghz network unstable, but it does not broadcast.

I have tried this with and without the usb storage and with and without samba support enabled, neither made a difference. If it matters here's how I'm atempting to create my guest network and yes I did do a factory reset after I flashed 36168. I'd appreciate any suggestions or if there's any updates or projections on a new build.

Thanks.
Dave.

Setting up a guest network:
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Guest_WiFi_%2B_abuse_control_for_beginners
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Guest_Network
1. Select wireless, basic settings, add a virtual interface wl0.1. Enable AP isolation.
2. Set network configuration to unbridged, enable nat, and enable net isolation.
3. Enable Forced DNS Redirection and enter 208.67.222.222
4. Enter the desired ip address and subnet mask:
172.16.23.1
255.255.255.0
6. Select save.
7. Select wireless security and set the security type and wireless network password.
8. Select save.
9. Select services, enable dnsmasq. In additional dnsmasq options add the ip address and range for the wl0.1 guest interface:
interface=wl0.1
dhcp-option=wl0.1,3,172.16.23.1
dhcp-range=wl0.1,172.16.23.2,172.16.23.60,255.255.255.0,12h
10. The complete additional options for dnsmasq adding in the earlier bits so local machines can be resolved via dns yields:
local=/home/
expand-hosts
domain-needed
bogus-priv
strict-order
interface=wl0.1
dhcp-option=wl0.1,3,172.16.23.1
dhcp-range=wl0.1,172.16.23.2,172.16.23.60,255.255.255.0,12h
11. Select save then apply.
12. Reboot router.

Yep, RT-N/AC66Us are both MIPS, not ARM.
