How's the wireless working? I've tried installing earlier versions of the K26 on my (also post-2007 WL500W) and any attempt to fiddle with the wifi has caused it to freeze up.....
PS -- can you post a link to the image you used. The most recent I can find is 14205 (although the most recent I've actually tried so far is 13527).
I can see that the Asus WL-500gP V2 is on the not supported list.
Does anyone know the status of the Asus WL500Gp V1 ?

The GPv1 may work because it has a bootloader levaing enough room for the K26 kernel to load.
Don't test unless you have a serial TTL adapter - it will be needed if you brick the router. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
Flashed my Linksys WRT320N some weeks ago using build 13493. Other than UPnP and that the routers workload always peeked at 100% everything else worked fine.
Upgraded to build 14205 now, and happy to see that the workload is @ 0% when no activity Also UPnP seems to work just fine after some minor testing. yay!

Thanks maurer for the great news.
How's the wireless performance now, better or worse?
Later....
Well, I've tried it myself. Works OK, except the wireless stuff. Probably because NEWD2 driver is not supported on 500g Premium. Is there a version with older NEWD driver but 2.6 kernel?
Thanks. _________________ ASUS WL500g Premium V1, CFE 3.91.7.0;

my wireless on the gPv1 is stable.
The connection is stable with no errors.
This is strange. Do you have the default Broadcom wireless module or the Atheros one?
For me, both Brainslayer and Eko K2.6 builds behave the same: wl status (or any wl command) return "wl:status ->wl driver adapter not found". Can you please see what wl driver are you using (wl ver)?
Where did you get the firmware image (it's not listed in router database for 500gP, only the K2.4 version is)?
I read that 500gP v2 is supported for NEWD2, but v1 is not.
Thank you. _________________ ASUS WL500g Premium V1, CFE 3.91.7.0;

Both v1 and v2 works with NEWD2, v2 does not work with K26 due to a too big kernel boot footprint.
The v1 has enough space for booting K26 but there are at least 2 different versions of CFE (year 2004 and year 2006) and the early CFE is very likely to cause radio instability together with NEWD2.
I suggest the both of you do a CFE backup ( http://yourroutersip/backup:cfe ) and attach them in a pm to me. I can then tell you if the CFE is the reason for why you have an unstable radio. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
