Select "Bridge" as operation mode and enable the ethernet converter:
Configure the lan with an address of your subnet and with the main router IP as gateway and DNS:
Configure the wireless based on your requirements:
Now you need to create a profile for your wireless network (mine has that V because it's already connected), after it's created select it and click "Activate" (in the second picture you can see the details of my profile):
After this if you go in site survey it will probably already show that the bridge is connected:
This is also my link status:
Hi,
I was able to flash my router with this firmware, but I cannot set it up as I did for AP in dd-wrt. How do I do that? Thanks

I sent you a PM - adamsky
bubbl3 - thanks for the pics!
I did not configure it like that at all, will try it this weekend and report back.
Very interested to see the quality of this Ralink Generic 3.3.0.0 firmware.
------------
Beautiful - thanks for the pics!
That worked perfectly, and it connected right up.
I think this generic RaLink firmware is easier to configure than DD-WRT! _________________ Soylent Green Is People !

I want to extend my wireless range across my house, I have a DLink DIR-615 as the main router with a cable router for internet access
I also have a Buffalo WHR-G300N
both with latest DDWRT firmware
if I follow this guide will it work, do I need to connect a LAN cable between the two routers in order to router traffic or will traffic be routed wirelessy
done as per instruction but did not work for me, do I need the same model of routers to work. as I my main AP will be DLink DIR 615 and the RB will be Buffalo WHR-G300N

The setup should be very similar, but I don't have a DIR model to test on.
You should be able to follow all the settings for the Repeater Bridge part for the WHR-G300N.
MOST of the settings for the Access Point on WHR-G300N should also apply to the DIR.
Whenever I do these setups, these routers are about 5 feet apart on 2 different computers.
That way I can setup and test before I move the RB somewhere else.
If you are trying to set these up at a distance, DON'T.
Move them closer, configure, test, then move to where you want it.
If it doesn't work at a distance, the antennas can't handle.
The WHR-G300N can be easily modified for external antennas. _________________ Soylent Green Is People !

ok update:
when im connected to the AP i can access the web gui of the ap and rb. but when im connected to just the RB i can access the rb gui but not the ap. so its maybe something in my AP thats blocking access from the RB
same here... it bothered me whole night resetting and reconfiguring, according to the instructions on the first page, both WHR-G300N routers for AP and RB with built 12255 which is the ONLY one good for iPhone~~~
I can see from the web gui from AP to RB but not the other way round... and I can see the machines connected to the RB with valid IP address on the AP. But no internet access could be made from the RB connected machine.
I have tried out the WDS, DMZ tricks but no good also!!!
Could anyone please help out???
I bought 2 of these some half a year ago but periodically try to configure them but no good every time~~~
thanks very much in advance~~~
To flash it i used the tftp method, but after a hard reboot of the router i was back to dd-wrt, so i just used the tftp method and then flashed the same root_uImage from the ralink firmware webui.
- Hi, cannot get the ftp link to work. is the link dead ?
::EDIT:: in fact, the ftp server doesn't answer
- Do you know a place where to find this 3.3.0.0 firmware ?
::EDIT:: I have found that link via google :
http://rs817.rapidshare.com/files/382123341/root_uImage
can someone confirm that its md5 hash is :
MD5 (Downloads/root_uImage) = a244a29362dd165ee0eddc3ddae6e14d
Thank you.
- I don't really understand who did that one ? is it Buffalo ?
cause the latest Buffalo is 1.65 ( http://www.buffalo-technology.com/support/downloads/ ) and the WebUI is completely different from the screenshots here.
::EDIT:: ok if I've understood, this is from a completely other development than dd-wrt or the buffalo official one.
- Finally, Is there an updated version of this 3.3.0.0 or is is still the latest of its kind ?

I used this howto months ago to get my Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N to work as a repeater bridge. The instructions were simple and worked immediately. But something went wrong and the repeater stopped getting internet from the AP so I tried a hard reset and updated the firmware (Buffalo's dd-wrt v24 SP2 build 14998).
Since the howto was written, some things have changed and/or Buffalo modified some options. Repeater Bridge isn't a choice on the Buffalo dd-wrt, looking at the order of drop down choices on another dd-wrt router, the Repeater Bridge choice seems to be replaced with WDS AP (the last option in the dropdown).
I am following the howto and wiki as closely as I can but I am missing something. I get three networks with the same name (instead of two) and cannot access the internet when connected to the repeater.
Any ideas what is going wrong? Should I switch to regular dd-wrt? How and what build is best?
