Hi, everyone,

With a wrt54gl linksys, I tried to switch to dd-wrt without success.

I launch the procedure through the linksys interface with the firmware micro.

The installation goes well, I get the message "installation succefull" and I click on the button and from there everything goes wrong.

I don't have access to the interface anymore, the router doesn't ping anymore but I do have the power diode and wan on fixed and of course the rj45 port diode as well.

I tried to take a fixed ip 192.168.1.x, but was unsuccessful.

Then I try 30-30-30, same problem.

I also do these command:
arp -s 192.168.1.1 aa-bb-cc-dd-ee-ff
ping 192.168.1.1

the router still isn't pinging. I don't know what to do anymore.

Thanks

What build did you use? Recent micro builds are broken:
https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1136472#1136472
https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/6387

Or you could have failing hardware; very common to have (non-visible) failing capacitor on G routers.

Damn, I used this one 36410: DD-WRT Broadcom Generic - K2.4 - Micro dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin

TFTP will work even if it doesn't ping?

Thanks

The other three from the build thread recovered via TFTP. Set static IP/subnet/gateway and continuous ping, then watch for TTL=100 right after powerup (1-3 seconds) to start TFTP upload.

As soon as you get a ping reply, you use the TFTP program to upload the file to the router. It should report that the file was successfully uploaded. Timing is everything on this process.

set your pc to static ip
192.168.1.10
255.255.255.0

Gateway 192.168.1.1

dns 192.168.1.1

wlan Bluetooth etc all off via Hardware Setting

antivirus Firewall off

connect your pc to an unmanaged Switch
connect router lan port to unmanaged Switch
(Windows simetimes Needs a bit to recognize the port is active and that might be enough to Close the time window. the Switch should Keep the port open

open 1st Shell

ping 192.168.1.1 -t you can set different Parameters here too to give it a try

open 2nd Shell
prepare the tftp command or use the linksys tftp Utility

watch the ping responses and if you get something try to Flash

Hi Barryware

When I do nothing, the status of router is : power on, wlan on and lan port on.

When I try to flash with tftp program : the led power is blinking.

Thanks

Hey dude,

Just had the same problem here. There's a brief window to flash back to stock firmware when you turn the router off then on again. Run the TFTP program to keep retrying a flash while you go restart your router. Worked for me just now.
