Hi,

I've got an Asus RT-N10 and would like to have dd-wrt in it. I'm not sure if it's supported, since it's not on the database and I can't find any info on it on the foruns, but it should be, since it's Broadcom based, with 4MB flash and 16MB Ram.

Care to help?

Here's the specs on it http://www.speedguide.net/broadband-view.php?hw=685

It's got a Broadcom 5356, should be OK...but seeing as the RT-12 and RT-16 need specialized builds, flash at your own risk.

I would see if an RT-12 build would work...or maybe simply a Mini build renamed as .trx.

REMEMBER, THIS ROUTER IS NOT KNOWN TO BE SUPPORTED, ANYTHING YOU DO IS YOUR OWN RISK!

Edit: According to the timeline, as of 13483, Eko is working on support for the RT-N10. I would sit tight and be patient. It's in progress. It may require a special build for that specific router. Who knows, one of the other builds might work. I personally would not attempt to flash unless I had a jtag or some way to recover.

I stand corrected. Thought the 535x series was more or less similar though...

They are but only in the sense that they are all SOC, ie everything on one chip, but do have different cpu cores - 5356 is based on the same core as 4716/17/18.
It is intended for the dirt cheap segment of the market.

The wiki says the rt-n10 is supported? Did this just happen in the last couple of days or is it wrong?

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#Asus

needs min of v24 SP2 - build 13661 - 20100118

I noticed that change recently in the SVN Trac, but as you pointed out, you need at least 13661.

Currently, the newest build available for download is 13637.

Hang in there !!

13661 is not released as a build and Eko is still working on it as of changeset 13667.
Looks like it will be supported real soon now Very Happy

I just bought a couple of RT-N10s based on the wiki list of supported devices and was all set up to flash.

Anyone know how soon "real soon now" is? I was hoping to setup a repeater bridge with this next Tuesday.

Personal expectations has never been able to force a dd-wrt firmware release, it comes when it is ready.

Yeah, well I wasn't asking to have it now - just if there is an idea of when it will be available.

I might be able to swap my routers for different models if it is going to be months so I was asking if anyone knew.

Commenting that is comes when it is ready, while true, do not help.

The router is supported in code, you just have to wait for the next build to be released...it could be weeks.

ASUS RT-N10 flash file is here.
I guess it should work, but use at your own risk.

I wouldn't, Tried it twice and had to recover. Asus makes recovery super simple but all I got was all light lit no GUI access.
