Hi,
I went to the downloads area: dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/ and selected a date and then chose Broadcom.
I have noticed that there are many different bin files.
I would like to know the difference between:
dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin
and
dd-wrt.v24_mini_special_generic.bin
also what is the difference between:
dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin
and
dd-wrt.v24_std_special_generic.bin
I have a linksys WRT54GL version 1.1 and a WRT54G version 2.2
I thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
Hi, thank you for replying to my post.
How do I find out the kernel version?
Under the status tab in the webpage of your router or digit "uname -a" in the shell.
Edit: if you want to know before install it, depends on your router, read the "build threads" and you will find which kernel use different routers (newer get the K4 but old routers are still on K3 or K2)
Router Model
Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS
Firmware Version
DD-WRT v3.0-r29837 std (06/06/16)
Kernel Version
Linux 2.4.37 #44042 Mon Jun 6 04:04:05 CEST 2016 mips
P.S. I think maybe we are misunderstanding each other, if you follow the link in my post, you will see the files, that I mention and the words generic & special etc.
I just want to know if I sohuld install the generic or special firmware on my linksys WRT54G version 2.2
