Without seeing what's happening at the console level, it is difficult to say precisely what is going on.
Is there any way to look at the output? The router keeps restarting itself about every 15 seconds. How could you access the console so quickly, while it's booting? If there is an easy-enough way, I would be willing to help. I'm sure someone from the thread I included the link for would be willing to pitch in as well. I want DD-WRT working on this router.

BrainSlayer you are brilliant. I brought a wzr-hp-g300nh yesterday to replace a netgear wireless lan bridge and it did not do what I wanted. I stumbled across dd-wrt while looking for a solution, it has taken me a day to find the solution in the forum but the replacement firmware is fantastic.
I tried the downloads on the download page for the wzr-hp-g300nh but they cam back with "invalid file". Then I found this post and the "wzrg300nh-firmware_MULTI.bin" firmware file and it worked.
For other I had upgraded my firmware from Buffalo to 1.72 and could not upgrade to the dd-wrt firmware. So I went to Buffalo site and got the old file and return the router to original state. Then I used the web update interface to install the "MULTI" firmware update and all is sweater than apple pie.
Sorry I am really excited, never thought of using a non vendor firmware update on my router before, and it has work so well.

and in case you want to revert. flash this binary from dd-wrt webgui
Will this bring back the Buffalo firmware?
Can it be used in DD-WRT on both Japanese and non-Japanese hardware?
My initial problem was that I could not use the Web GUI that was in Japanese only. But now I think you have made it possible to get original firmware in English with JP hardware. First use Multi firmware posted above to DD-WRT and then use the "Original" firmware. But I dont think I will do it because Im really starting to like DD-WRT!
If I load the "orignal" firmware. Can I then load a real orignal firmware from Buffalo on top of it?
Has anyone successfully gotten a router with the infamous diag light after flashing the webgui .bin file to actually work? I just got one of these after seeing the specs on newegg, and noting that there was already support. Upon flashing it, insta-brick. I've gotten it back to stock firmware now which was easy enough, but now I can't find a tftp version of the current dd-wrt builds. Any help? Can someone upload the original tftp file that's linked all over this thread to another site so I can grab it? Thanks

G'day is there an 1.72 version of this?
I have a Japanese router and i have just tried out dd-wrt, nothing against it just not quite what i want.
Is it possible to flash it back to an English Buffalo version of 1.72? Really want WDS on my router.
Thanks for your time and help.

Peter

Using TTL cable, log on to UBOOT, set "Region" to "EU", you can start with the European version 1.72.
