Seems openwrt been tinkering quite a bit on this model and got stuff working.
Can't hurt that the atheros drivers are open source for these models. |

I guess this isn't a very popular model. I figured it would be a economical solution to the 610, but not very many posts. _________________ The New Me |

I don't think many know about them actually.
Didn't see any in the stores around me tell the past few months.
That and the stock firmware has a bug that causes it to lock the router up every now and then.
Still the specs and hardware are similar to other models here so i can't see it being as hard as some to port over to ddwrt.
The hardware itself is actually quite good and even faster then the 610 models in wireless.
I figure by now the brain (keep picturing a mouse trying to take over the world) has got one and is looking into it. |

I look at it this way if brain wasn't serious about it he wouldn't have gone to all the trouble to get one. |

If brain anything like me he just has to tinker with the new hardware. |

About once a week or ever couple of days it reboots itself.
Now not a huge issue since it goes right back to they way it was and it doesn't appear to be a heat issue since at best its only warm.
Did i mention i really hate stock firmware? | No you didn't mention it, but it is a given or you wouldn't be here.
I did notice that the unit gets quite hot, switch chips and radio chip.
And hopefully the spam above can be deleted. _________________ The New Me |

Told yeah...lol
New toy, open wireless drivers, open wrt already done lots of messing and its hard not to see brain supporting it.
Doesn't hurt that its similar to a few other wrt models.
Expect we shall see something soon. |

Wasn't referring to the atheros but the fact linksys tends to change little in its basic router firmware.
There is bound to be much that's the same between this and the other dual band routers linksys makes.
Which should speed things up for the brain and others.
For once linksys stick in the mud behavior with its firmware works for us.
About bloody time if you ask me. |
