Hi all,

Quick question.
Is it normal that despite using this command at startup (arp -i br0 -s 192.168.1.254 FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF), the router (R6250) doesn't seem to keep it alive after a reboot?
Indeed, WoW doesn't work anymore after reboot.

I ask that because on another router (WRT54GL), it didn't seem to loose anything after reboot. But I remember it had another command I can't remember and don't find anywhere.

Are you saving this command as a startup script? If so, and its not working, maybe try adding a `sleep 10` first (or sleep 30, or whatever). If you're just running the command via telnet/ssh or the command window, then no that isn't saved. Smile

Yes it is the startup script that I was talking about.

I don't see what you say about "sleep 10 or 30" (noob Embarassed )
But I remember that on my WRT54GL, I had another script which, probably (?) prevented to lose the ARP table after each reboot.

Is it possible ? And then, what would be this script ?

The `sleep` command is just a delay, so `sleep 30` delays 30sec. Is the startup command saving over a reboot, but just not working? If so, delaying the command for a bit might help. Though in the wiki's and threads I've seen, there is no mention of reboot issues. Also, what build are you using?

I am using v3.0-r32170M kongac (06/11/17) on the R6250 and v24-sp2 (08/07/10) vpn on the WRT54GL

I also have a R8000 which seems to be able to keep the ARP after rebooting (with only the command script for startup I mentionned).

So I am a bit lost...
