I have a Asus wl-520gu and I want to put dd-wrt.v24-14205_NEWD_std-nokaid_usb.bin (eko svn14205 std-nokaid_usb) on it. Problem is, the file size is 3,805,184 bytes, but, according to peacock note 4, the max file size for a 4mb flash router is 3,801,088 bytes. Since it's only 4096 bytes larger, is it still safe to flash?

Also, I have a usb stick, so I don't need to use jffs2.

EDIT: I have nothing against testing it myself, I just can't afford to replace the unit if it became bricked.

I am pretty sure that the worst that will happen is that it won't take, and you'll have to flash a proper sized build. Those GU units are really hard to brick.

In fact, I have a GU and I will likely try for you. I have a serial interface and have already soldered in a header....

EDIT: Appears to have worked fine.

Thanks. I should be able to perform the reflash by tonight, and I'll post the status on mine then.

EDIT: It works.
