Eddie - I noticed in your output that it's detecting a Broadcom 4716? If you look back to the start of the thread you can see the inside of my F7D4302 and it appears to have a Broadcom 4718 (not 16)... do you think there are different versions out there?

The tjtag utility does not support Broadcom 4718. It is probably not reading or detecting correctly.

That's not even the dd-wrt wiki. Editing is locked.

I acquired a few of these for $30/each from Tech for Less last week. I sure hope there is a breakthrough on getting DD-WRT functionality out of them. The router has performed well enough as typical AP after finally getting connected to the previous users configurations and resetting. The software install with Vuze is kind of fun and the USB speed isn't bad. It's better than my TP-Link 1043ND w/DD-WRT big. I could donate one of these units to the cause.

this should probably be updated in the dd-wrt router database, for whoever has permission to do so as wip....i'm fairly certain that someone will eventually get it up and running, just a question of time...

EDIT: or does it need something actually up and running for it to be considered work in progress?

A desire of mine is to hardware mod for an external serial line.

And I want to get a ssh server running so I can transfer binaries and scripts to the router.

If and when we do figure out how to get firmware on there, what build would be a good choice for this router?

Are these good candidates?
wrt610N V2 (uses the 4718) needs K26

Well... I guess it can run dd-wrt, but I need test unit.
Here is EU it is around 110€, so if few people come together and donate for buying one - I will do it.
(donate at dd-wrt dot si) or Amazon gift certificates.

and grep nvram via tjtag.
if you're mighty then try to flash a bulid of the supported 4718 units (the switch wont work after) and see if its booting and whats working so far

The F7D4302 (Belkin Play) uses the new dual radio chip BCM43224 (a/b/g/n) so Eko will need a sample, this development is almost impossible to do without a router on the table.
The lan switch is a conventional 100Mbit BCM5325E.

F7D4301 (Belkin Play Max) is identical except for the lan switch which is a GBit BCM53115S.

They both have 2xUSB 2.0 , 8MB parallell flash (8-bit) and 64MB ram.

F7D3302 (Belkin Share) is a similar router to Belkin Play, only difference is that the internal radio of BCM4718 is used instead of an external and it has only 1x USB 2.0.

So come on folks, send your donations to Eko!
He needs one router and can probably add support for all 3 from that one.

cool, good to see that there is indeed still some interest in this, I already got so fed up with the default firmware that i went and bought a different (more stable) router...that being said, i still would love to see this happen because then i can probably rig this as a wireless bridge and set up my xbox 360 and my blu ray player (neither of which i have a wireless adapter for) to the internet, if it works respectably right off the bat, anyways.....
