first flash from stock belkin firmware on an F7D4302/F7D8302 has to be a trailed build. you could have found the information you seek in this thread.

start with this trailed build... http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24-K26/svn17084/dd-wrt.v24-17084_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_f7d4302.bin

Oh MAN!
This one finally worked!!!
I've been ripping my hair out already, so many wrong files referenced for F7D4302...
THANK YOU!

P.S. a better organised repository of the builds would be GREATLY appreciated.

registered specifically to post my success with this firmware. The 5ghz band might or might not work on mine, no way to test it but my main reason was the 2.4ghz band dropping off all of my wireless devices. We have 2 EVO 4G's an EVO Shift and I use an EVO 3D, all would randomly d/c. Upon flashing this firmware it fixed that issue entirely. They all stay connected. The only question I have is this one.

When I'm on my EVO 3D, there's a game I like to play. However I need to download a 700mb data file to play (the game is Order and Chaos) and when I'm around 100mb in the download fails no matter what. Could this be an issue with the router still? Either way - I highly appreciate the work of the dev/s put into this as Belkin told me it was basically HTC's fault for making it incompatible with the router (which is false).

But on the file download question, does anyone know if it's a setting in the router that needs tweaked? I dont know of any huge files I can test this theory with.

Oh yeah It might be more useful if I tell you guys that I'm using a F7D8302v1. Smile

Hi!

I managed to install the firmware "dd-wrt.v24-17990_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin" on my Belkin Play. The Web GUI shows that the 5GHz WLAN is working. But unfortunaltey my MacBook Pro can't see the WLAN. Anybody having the same problem?

Is anyone able to get an xbox 360 to see the wireless network? Phones and laptops see it just fine but my slim xbox with built in wifi will not see it no matter what setting I change.

Hey everyone, I've been browsing this post reading all that I can.

I have a F7D8302v1, and can get into the CFE Mini-server, though I can not seem to upload firmware,

When i try to upload dd-wrt.v24-15508_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini.bin , it pretty much does nothing, like it's waiting to connect.

When I upload dd-wrt.v24-17084_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_f7d4302.bin, the pages goes to a connection reset error, and still nothing happens?

I've waited more more than the amount of time suggested and not a thing :/

Either way I can reload the mini-server page.

any hints? Smile

Hey guys, I just updated my Belkin f7d3302 to
dd-wrt.v24-17990_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_f7d3302 and after that to dd-wrt.v24-17990_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega. But i have a problem:

I wanted to know the WLan Mac adress but when i open status-> wireless dd-wrt tells me, that the wirelessradio is off. (I am connected via Wireless to the Router so it cant be turned off?

Any possibilty of fixing it?

@ tthreeoh I had a same problem with my Belkin f7d3302. I used on the second try IE9 and not Firefox, so it worked for me

Hey tthreeoh
Just flash the .bin file via the belkin firmware update ( I believe this is called the GUI? ). Then after the firmware update perform a 30/30/30 reset

i need help this is what i did and now im stuck. can someone tell me how to get to tomatousb or how to restore to a stock firmware so i can start over?

1) Go here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/suppor...vn15396%2F

Download: dd-wrt.v24-15396_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_f7d3301.bin

2) Go here: http://www.linksysinfo.org/index....6-7.36106/

Use the Mediafire link in the second post and download the build of your choice (I used the EXT version that has USB and NTFS support):
tomato-K26USB-1.28.7497.1MIPSR2-Toastman-RT-Ext.trx

Keep the reset button pressed in for the next three steps:
3) While the unit is powered on Press the reset button for 30 secs
4) Keeping the reset button pressed, unplug the power (do not let up on the reset button)
5) Plug the power back in and wait for another 30 secs
6) You can now let up on the reset button

Once the router is in this mode you will have access to a special "CFE menu".

7) Plug your desktop/laptop into port 1,2,3, or 4 and set your IP Address to 192.168.2.8 with a gateway of 192.168.2.1
i did not set my ip address with a gateway

Cool Point your IE browser (Do not use Firefox) to 192.168.2.1 and CFE menu will be available.
9) Load the bin file you downloaded in step 1

10) It will take about 5 minutes to load dd-wrt. After 5 minutes I opened a new tab and was able to connect to 192.168.1.1. (I think I had to reset my ip address back to dhcp in order to connect).

11) When logging into the ww-drt interface for the first time it prompts you for a password, I cleared the password just to be safe.
i tried clearing the pw but it wouldnt let me go to any of the tabs so i set the login and pw

12) Navigate to the firmware upload screen and then load the trx file from step 2. I selected the option to reset the settings after flash.

13) I've seen mention of doing another 30/30/30 reset at this point but I skipped this as I think the reset settings option during the flash does the same thing.
did not do this

14) Enable DHCP in the Tomato interface. You might have to reset your static IP to 192.168.1.8 in order to connect in and make this change.
did not do this

after the reset i tried to log back into ddwrt and i could not. my login and pw were different than the ones i set.

so thats when i did the reset that flamewolf told me to do. this time i set the ip and gateway correctly. i could not get to the cfe menu but for some reason the ddwrt was still working. so i attempted to load tomatousb again which failed. it would get to the end and tell me to wait while it was updating and stayed that way forever. i exited the ddwrt and did the hold reset button+unplug and replug the power plug while keeping the reset button pressed for another 30 seconds again. this is where i am currently stuck at. ddwrt does not work, nothing seems to work anymore.

I have just read all 29 pages of this thread as well as a bunch of other info on these routers previously. I am now ready to buy (at least) one of these awesome routers, but I just want to make sure I am getting the right one.

Assuming that the information in the Supported Devices wiki page is correct*, what other differences are there between the models? In particular, what are the differences between the 3301/7301 and the 4301/8301? Because the 7301s are going for about $30 right now, and the 8301s about $50. Is there any difference?

* It is my current understanding that the models ending in 01 ("Share Max" and "Play Max") have 2 USB ports instead of one, and are also gigabit ethernet. Any other differences? It has been hard to find accurate information.
