So I just setup my new Asus RT-N12 router with DD-WRT v24-SP2 mini. It is working well, but the copy speed between computers seems slow. I 150Mbps 802.11N wireless connection on my laptop and a 100Mbps Ethernet connection on my desktop. I only get 2MB/s when copying files between them. I have tried to optimize my wireless speed by selecting a channel that is open, using 40MHz channel width, using only WPA2 etc. What else can I do to increase the transfer speed?

What OSs? What's hosta and hostb?

How are you copying?

I noticed the same problem when I ran some tests on my WRT610N v1, except all my tests focused on Internet speed. My connection is 50/10 and I get that when connected through Ethernet to the switch, but on Wireless N even sitting right in front of the router and on both 2.4 and 5.2 bands (tested with 40MHz, 20MHz, and encryption enabled/disabled) - maximum download I can achieve is 20Mbps. Something must be up because I used to hit the cap on wireless.

Do you have QoS on and set to LAN&WLAN instead of WAN?
