Hello, Everyone

First of all thank you to everyone that made and maintains this website. I am a total noob at this but I believe I am ready to give it a go. I read the peacock file as well as the install for my particular router.I still have a few questions and also was hoping someone could double check that I have down loaded the correct files to complete this task.

Router : WRT54GS v6

Files I downloaded for install are:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=58231

Page for my instructions will be : http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54GS_v5.0_%26_5.1_%26_6.0

as well as the peacock file

Once everything is installed as required I hoping to be able to extend my wireless range with the internet from my current router : Netgear WNR843B v2

Please stop me if anything looks wrong. I so do not want to brick my router..

Thank you, Bogtrance

Make sure you follow the wiki instructions to the letter. Read them 2 or three times before you go for it, so that you understand exactly what your doing. And above all else patients. I've seen more bricked routers cause someone was in a hurry than I care to count.

Don't be afraid Very Happy

Yes fear is an issue at this point after reading the long peacock file and the wiki page and the router page it seems too be too many instructions to follow at one time lol. I will be patient I will follow the instructions to the letter with the 30/30/30 thingy and the waiting for the router to do its own thing at the different steps like wait 5 minutes for it to boot or whatever.. just scared to screw it up.
