jheide44 above posted the latest version that will not brick wnr2000v2

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/03-19-2015-r26490/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-26490_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini.bin

the folders on ftp changed, you must go first to betas folder

Would it be safer flashing older builds first like jheide44 and is the 'firmware upgrade' button still the recommended way?

Yes it is to use the firmware upgrade button
I've just updated mine from build 21061 to 26490.

Build 21061 it's the one available on the Router database, "Webflash image for first installation" on my wnr2000 v2

Have any of you overclocked the base 300 frequency of this router? If so, how high did you push it?

Using the new 26490 build.

Hi Everyone, i'm new here!

After bricking my WNR2000 V2 first time round, I have managed to install a mini build (didn't write it down, but it was an Eko from 2010), and then went on to DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/19/15) mini (SVN revision 26490).

One thing that both builds have is that the LED indicators for LAN are all wrong (as suggested in the Wiki, does anyone have a command/flash that has a fixed version of this?

mikk, if you're afraid of flashing 21061, at the wnr2000 v2 wiki there's a link to an older version, 15XXX check that one...

mine running @ 300Mhz was about 55 degrees C, increasing to 400Mhz the temp raised by 3 degrees...

my router doesn't work that much and i don't have heatsinks so i don't know if i should try to go higher, also it sits in a closet with the covers removed...

Flash the ancient chk that is on the wiki, it's a legacy ftp address maybe that's why you didn't found it.
after the first run on dd-wrt download the generic bin from march 2105 file for broadcom routers.
after dd wrt installed on broadcom devices you just need a generic build.

I finally installed DD-WRT on my WNR2000v2 today. I installed the 15962 chk file first, and then upgraded directly to 26490.

I did not have any issues. I did the 30-30-30 hard reset as directed in the wiki and waited 10 minutes after each update before doing anything.

I successfully flashed build 26947 vpn-small, everything seems to be ok.
Is there any hardware mod for this router ?

Successfully upgraded to DD-WRT v3.0-r27745 vpn-small (08/25/15) from ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/08-25-2015-r27745/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-27745_NEWD-2_K2.6_openvpn_small.bin without any reset of settings.
