having looked at the new firmware, there are two files, which should be chosen to upgrade the firmware.

My router is just the buffalo firmware without any dd-wrt on it.

The 2nd file is for those who already have dd-wrt on the router and want to update to the latest build.

You should only use the buffalo to dd-wrt webflash file this time.
When a new build gets released you use the firmware file.

Thanks for the reply. I managed to update the firmware.

I think BrainSlayer has removed it.
I guess that his work on this router was not complete and that an automated build process of all routers recreated it.

I would advise waiting unless, like me, you have no other purpose for the router.

Can you list what you have found - I think everyone is testing different configurations (especially me)

everything worked for me. but I wanted to know if this version was "definitive" and if it is also added to the router database

What do you mean 'definitive' ?

One of the best things about DD-WRT firmware is that it is constantly being updated and tweaked!

IT is NOT like manufacturer firmware that gets updated once every couple of months.

Changes and improvements always happen.

Some of my routers must have been flashed over 50-100 times with different versions of firmware.

The flashing is the fun part!

Say YES to flashing!

Flash your friends and neighbors also!

I get the impression that the database lags behind the supported hardware list especially with hardware added since the last service pack:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#Buffalo

I suspect that as current builds are labelled 'pre SP2' that when v24 Sp2 becomes 'The lastest stable release' you might get it added to the database.

Using the V2 as a client bridge results in regular stalls of the device if you have something connected to the WAN port (tested with multiple devices)

This results in you having to hard reboot the router.

Any suggestions?

Correction, it just stalls if any significate amount of activity is going through the router, when is a new build due for release?
