Hi

Last night, my wife turned my WRT610N off. This morning when I went to turn it back on all I get after all the lights initially light up is the power light flashing.

It had been working fine for a long time, on EKO's 16403, so why it went wrong I do not know.

I tried various things to try and get it into management mode but I cannot even ping the device, I tried the holding the reset button for 2.5secs thing, I tried opening it and shorting the pins, on some occasions I see that the Internet light and one other light up and stay on - I'm guessing this is where it thinks it's in management mode, but still cant ping it.

I have some other things to try, ive ordered a cisco cable to try and fix it using serial, and I'm going to try again using a linux machine, as I've only tried it on Vista and Win 7. But if these don't work, my question is - does anybody want my wife?

Actually - my question is whether anyone offers a debricking service if I post it to them, my attempts at soldering recently have been pretty poor on a wrt54gs....

happy to pay.

Eko does offer such a service. You could PM him. Of course, I'm talking about debricking your router, not taking your wife!!! Very Happy

Pin shorting is a bad idea. Many won't bother to deal with a router that has been pin shorted. Take a look at note 6 of the peacock announcement and see if that assists in any way.

Thanks, I didn't like Pin shorting it I must admit... I'll try the suggestions on the peacock thread tomorrow.
