well its extremely hard to look through all builds released in history I thought there are people who are familiar with specific routers and can advice what is stable and well tested
..So nobody knows right?
I tried to ask in 'General Questions' but post got deleted with no response
I will ask here:
How do I find the latest stable release for my router?
What I've done:
- Found a topic about my router, searched through it; (only 3 years old versions or betas)
- Asked in that topic; (no advice)
- Searched through ~10 latest 'New Release' topics in my branch, looking my router, every page; (didn't find, so I don't even know if people are testing with such routers or not)
- Looked in the 'Router Database', just for fun, since I know it should never be trusted; (beta)
I have an TL-WR741ND ver. 4.27 and I flashed builds r21061 and r23138.
When I change the PPPoE settings, they seem to get applied, but the router becomes unresponsive. The WebUI locks up, it says connecting. When I try to ping the router, it doesn't work. Only a hard reset makes it work again.
I was afraid of flashing the latest firmware. Should I try that too? Can someone confirm PPPoE is working for them on this router with any dd-wrt firmware at all?
Hey guys,
i have WR741ND v4, which is the most stable version? That means, which version of ddwrt firmware has least bug at all ?
Im running on r23720, this one works fine for me even with adblock script. But wifi seems to be a little bit buggy. When i downloading bigger file connection interrupt sometimes. So i looking for better one, thank you for advice
I've been using the latest at the moment build "DD-WRT v3.0-r33413 std (09/27/17)" on my TL-WR741ND ver. 4.24 and it works quite stable on it.
My settings are quite simple. From WAN side it just gets DHCP lease from an ISP, no PPoE or whatsoever.
WiFi is stable and speed is adequate to the `n` standard it supports. But in the evenings I notice some occasional 1-2 seconds glitches, which I totally relate to the channel switching. There're around 10 other routers with strong signals competing for the air, and the other router I use is also behaves similarly. I also use MAC addresses filter for WiFi devices - no problems with it.
QoS is ON and works fine.
And lastly, in my case stability is measured in spans of 24 hours because I've set it to automatically reboot every night at 5 AM.
Hi,
Does anyone know if the last 12-12-2018-r37961 makes TL-WR741ND v2 work fine as a repeater?
Thank you?
Hey, I tried it and it works fine. However, when it's in repeater mode, after some time (few hours) I can no longer get into the Web GUI... But it's still working like it should be, only the GUI stops working. Ćheck my thread: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=317696&highlight=
