Hello friends! Today arrived my router PT-LINK TL-WR841ND Ver3.0, I called him and working properly! OK! DD-WRT firmware downloaded from the following link:
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/07-16-10-r14815/tplink_tl-wr841ndv3/factory-to-ddwrt.bin
I clicked to upgrade to the firmware downloaded, uploaded 100%, and tp-link page said if the page does not load altomaticamente, was to click on Refresh, especially
King 5 more minutes and not uploaded, then I refresh and now does not enter the page of the router, I tried unsuccessfully to reset 30/30/30, already try to connect the WAN port and LAN and it does not assign ip to network card, even I setting the ip to 192.168.1.10 and the router page does not enter, I will have to use the serial cable? not have any other way to fix? because the salesman placed a seal of guarantee to not open the router

hopefully answer, Thanks!

maybe this can help you even if it is for the 1043 model:
http://samiux.blogspot.com/2010/03/howto-dd-wrt-on-tp-link-tl-wr1043nd.html
seems to me that you have to telnet to the router and type those 2 commands before it becames usable ;)

regarding the TP-Link WR841ND v5.x:

I bought a WR841ND v5.3 and was really happy to see, that this model is support with firmware v.24 sp2 - build 14911 - 20100810, info from: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#TP-Link Very Happy

So I searched the forums and found following link: ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/

As I think that new releases are uploaded approximately every 14 days I am now really looking forward to this :)

Are there any information about the stability and working features of those builds beside trial and error? Cool

Just a heads up, I successfully installed BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2 (08-12-10-r14929) on my WR841ND v5.5 today using the tp-link web interface. I had absolutely no problems getting dd-wrt up and running. I was hoping to use this router as a repeater (client + VAP), but have had some trouble getting a reliable connection using the site survey.

I did too yesterday. Everything went fine. Still when I used client via Site Servey my router did not respond after that so I had to reset the router.

So after much frustration, I am still unable to get this router (v5.5) to connect as a client to another AP. Has anyone had success in client mode? I think this may be a bug.

Hi, I installed with no problems from ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/08-12-10-r14929/, then reboot because web GUI didn't seem to work and after that I was eable to change parameters.

Now I'm trying to connect as client to another AP so I can use it as a repeater, at the moment I can ping the network from the router via telnet but I am not able to use the network from the PC connected via the switch, I think this can be solved by bridging the interfaces.

So now I will continue testing.
