-as expected wrt150n v1 is able to operate with a 5v power
-the 64mb ram upgrade is done
-two pieces of v58c2256164sat6 is used
-execute
nvram set sdram_init=0x0009
nvram set sdram_ncdl=0x0000
nvram commit
reboot

(-all of the above info also works on my wrtsl54gs)

-The 0402 capacitors around the ram ICs are measured to be 0.01uf.
-The ram copper pads are not very strong
-First, I desoldered a whole ddr dimm module without damaging and pads
-When i desoldered the original (16mb) ram on wrt150n, two pads was removed and damaged.
-I was lucky, they are ground and NC.
-The point is, use a heat blower unless you REALLY have confidence in your smt soldering skill.

usb mod:

pinout:
-located in the component section "E" (between the push button and bcm4704)

rx19: usb1_dp
rx15: usb1_dn

rx18: usb2_dp

follow the info here to do the mod

Waiting for any news on USB mod for WRT150n
I am ready to follow your example by modding my unit - an SD card is good but USB would definitely be better.

By the way, how did you choose the RAM modules for your mod? I have several sticks with capacity of 16-64 MB per chip (various manufacturers) and would like to expand the router's RAM. I'm not good enough at soldering components of this size so I'll have someone else do the job and need to make sure my modules will be compatible. Any advise on that is appreciated

oh....I almost forget about this tread

I choose this ram module mainly because it is the only thing I can find in my tool box.

But I know I must use a **Mx16 DDR1.

zerx,

I applied your USB mod on the router. Writing speed sucks, less than expected Confused But overall I love it.

Thank you.
