Today I just upgraded my firmware on my router (WRT320N) with the latest build of DD-WRT. As usual, I hard reset it before the flash and after the flash and proceed to set it up again. I go through the steps to set it up as a WDS client. I set up everything and get to the step where I disable the DHCP server. I apply the settings and reboot the router to initialize the WDS network. All seems well until I try to connect to the router through an ethernet cable. It shows "Limited or No Connectivity" in the network status. I lose all access to the web GUI. Is there anything that I am doing wrong? Is there any step in the WDS tutorial that might be causing this?

Thanks. I overlooked that. So everytime I want to access the router after a reboot I have to set up a static IP? _________________ Linksys WRT610Nv1 18946M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko

No...you shouldn't have to...only if you're flashing your router. Once it's up, your computer should get an IP address. Try waiting a few minutes after your router reboots, and if necessary run (on your computer, not the router lol) ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew.
Windows is notorious for being unable to figure out its own network issues, so don't depend on the "Troubleshoot and Repair" feature in Vista and Windows 7.
EDIT!!!!: Ok, I didn't read your post completely. You're setting it up for WDS, and disabling the DHCP server...which means you should be getting an IP lease from your main router. May have to give it a couple minutes. Setting a static IP may or may not help. _________________ Click here for Eko beta Click here for Brainslayer beta >>>PEACOCK THREAD!<<<

Thanks for all your help! I was able to configure the other parts of my router. The only problem I get down to is trying to get the two routers to communicate with each other. In the "WDS Nodes" section on both routers, my host router detects the client router but my client router does not detect the host router. Is this just a simple range issue or a more complex issue? _________________ Linksys WRT610Nv1 18946M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko

The routers weren't showing up in the WDS Nodes section, but after I rebooted both routers they showed up. _________________ Linksys WRT610Nv1 18946M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko
