Linksys WRT54G2 / GS2 DD-WRT v24-sp2 (14896)
Good Morning,
I've been playing with quite a bit, and have tried 3 different versions, all with same result.
If I use DHCP on my External (WAN) IP, everything works.
If I use Static IP on my external (WAN) IP, I can't get to the internet.
Yes, the IP is right.
Yes, the Subnet is right.
Yes, the gateway is right.
This exact same configuration on the Static IP did work correctly with the original OS on the linksys.
I even tried entering in the DHCP retrieved values, on the static IP form, and it does not work.
Do I need to manually add a static route if I'm using a static IP? The displayed routing table "seems" ok.

is your wan ip dynamic? If you keep your wan connection set to dhcp, does it change when you reboot the router?
Mine does. The router reboots when you change the wan connection type so if your wan ip is dynamic, it has just changed and static won't work.. The isp just gave your last ip to someone else. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]

Thanks for the response.
No, I pay for, and use a Static IP.
Hmmm... I can't help. When I test routers, I use my main network as the router being tested's isp. I really don't think I ever tested a static wan ip.. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]
then again you could always try and see if dhcp mode works. I have fixed ip in my office, but i dont need to use static mode, the modem assigns the ip to the router _________________ WHR-HP-G54 Repeater mode

WRT54GL (had 7 storey fall and still working perfectly in repeater mode at 251mW since i installed dd-wrt a few years ago )
Thanks for all the help on this folks.
I'm a victim of bad timing.
COX apparently screwed up on their end, and the power reset on my equipment placed their equipment on a different subnet, which meant my routing no longer worked. Nothing wrong with DD-WRT, it's the provider (go figure).
