Does anybody know if there are any substantial differences between North American and European flavours?
The SW on this router is so painfully bad, that I'm tempted to risk bricking it with the version described in this thread.
The sluggish loading of web pages seems to bear no resemblance to the 12741 kbps down and 1104 kbps up sync rates reported in the status page.
I'm getting desperate. If I re-flash with the same factory Belkin FW the performance seems better...for a time...and then goes back to being very slow and painful. Performance is teh suck whether I am directly CAT5 cabled or wireless G/N 2.4 or 5 GHz.
I suspect there's something seriously amiss with the actual 'routing' of this router and that it's definitely the half-baked FW.
Is anyone able to confirm support for F7D4401 v1? - the ADSL model of the same Play Max router.

i own a f7d4401v1, does this firmware support it?
The F7D4401v1 is an F7D4301v1 + ADSL modem.
dd-wrt is router code only so does not support modem/router combos. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!

so I have flashed eko's latest build on the belkin play max router. attached 1gb flash drive shows up in /mnt , if i ssh into the router and LS the /mnt directory I can see the files.
but if I direct \\192.168.1.1\ , it just shows me the public folder . and I cannot write anything in here .. ???
so I went down the path of installing optware on the flash drive . and yes , I can get Midnight commander to work , but again cannot see my attached flash drive as a nas storage ??
any idea's
use build 15230
OK I feel completely stupid. I cannot find where to download build 15230. I am currently using DD-WRT v24-sp2 (09/10/10) big
(SVN revision 15140M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko)
Where do I get the lastest version for my Belkin F7D8302
BTW any word on those 5GHz drivers just had to ask ;)
PS funny thing, Im using a white 2.4GHz macbook with airport extreme and wireless keeps dropping, never had an issue with my WRT54G but this Belkin is something to be desired. Had to finish this post with my patch cable
and telnet 192.168.1.1 (use 2.4g wireless connection),run:
nvram set lan_ifnames='vlan2 eth1 eth2 eth3'
nvram set landevs='vlan1 wl0 wl1'
nvram commit
reboot
After reboot ,you will found ererything is ok,5g and 2.4g can be both support.
Can I just use the DD-WRT web gui to do this firmware upgrade or do I need to use something like tftp? or CFE mini?
Just use dd-wrt "firmware upgrade" to upgrade, don't forget select "reset to default setting",after auto reboot, you can't use wire connetion visit tomato web page, but you can use wireless connection...

Ok sorry to seem so ignorant. I appreciate all your help! but hopefully im no the only one out there and this post will help other dolts like myself. I understand upgrading the firmware via wireless (do i need to assign an ip address, subnet, and gateway like the wired version or just use dhcp?) and via the dd-wrt web gui, but the telent commands, am i able to do that with my mac? is there some sort of built in telnet client that is built into the tomato firmware that will directly communicate with the router. and would i just copy and paste the commands like this all at once
/paste
nvram set lan_ifnames='vlan2 eth1 eth2 eth3'
nvram set landevs='vlan1 wl0 wl1'
nvram commit
reboot
and then hit run or execute or whatever the button is named and it runs it like a batch and then reboots the router?
im trying to make sure this is idiot proof since im doing it wirelessly on a mac and dont want to brick this thing.
