Hello guys..

Have anyone already tried the latest firmware of 2013 ( dd-wrt.v24-23204_NEWD-2_K3.x_big.bin )the major problem is the lack of SSH console access and HTTPS web-gui access..

perhaps you check out the kong build http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K26/r22200/usb-ftp-samba3-vpn-nv32k-broadcom.bin which I had before I bricked mine with 23204 k26 Sad

Heya, i think i bricked my router, can someone help me? Here is what i did when trying to get ddwrt...

I went on 192.168.1.1 and did a factory reset. Then did a 30 30 30 but no CFE server.

the CFE server is on 192.168.2.1 after pressing the wps button for 10 seconds and configuring your computer to a corresponding manual ip address lets say 192.168.2.9 where you can upload the mini build prior to 22118 or the belkin software.

Did someone ever succeed in tftp this router? Question

//edit: the CFE server is on 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1 or depending on what the router last came up with

You probably havent Bricked it...Simply do a 30/30/30,then do the 10 second WPS boot, now set your network IP address to a static

IP: 192.168.2.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.2.1

Now, try to connect to 192.168.2.1

if this doesnt work try the above with 192.168.1.x

for some reason you lose all the DHCP side of things, but when you go direct it will work.

Then Reflash the mini, and then the big as shown above: I used dd-wrt.v24-21676_NEWD-2_K2.6_big after I flash mini and then did the 30/30/30

Thanks, but still no luck. No lights, no ability to connect to 192.168.1.x or 192.168.2.x.

Hi,

I pretty much registered to save some noob's time. I read about this 30/30/30 so much but i thought it was some sort of placebo effect, like clearing dalvik cache 3 times before flashing an Android rom.

But i was wrong. It really does work, and you need to do it.

I flashed the mini firmware through CFE and my router just appeared to be dead. Couldn't do DHCP, even CFE wasn't showing up anymore no matter which IP i manually set in Windows! I thought i somehow hard bricked it my first time! Nothing was working, until i said fuck it, and did the 30/30/30 reset. Remember, not 25/25/25, not 28/28/28, but 30/30/30! Make it 40/40/40 so you're sure you held the reset button long enough!

Followed jasonbuechler's guide, except pushed the mini (dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini.bin) via the belkin upgrade window, didn't work with the CFE server, but still follow the 30/30/30 resets and such as he describes, once first in the mini firmware, then upgraded to the big (dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin) and now running full bore with no issues, the 5ghz band will not work in the mini, but comes back to life in the big.

Setup on my F7D8301 flawlessly, much major improvement over the factory Belkin firmware.

FYI - Might not hurt to set your pc to a static ip if you have issues gaining access to the router, for me, win7 would do its autoconfig to a 169...ip and never kick renew once the router caught up. switch between a 192.168.2.5 or 192.168.1.5 until you get in.

Thank you DD-WRT team for an opensource powerhouse firmware.

Just a small update..(who's cares?)

I got build 23320 working on Belkin F7D4301 v.1, I flashed it through web interface.

Code:
dd-wrt.v24-23320_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin

It seems pretty functional apart the WIFI (unfortunally I can't test 5 ghz on my own)
I went from 21061 to 22200, then with this one. Apparentely the issues with SSH was solved but now WIFI seems completely not to work (not AP mode neither client bridge and so on). It was ok in AP mode (but not with client bridge) with previous builds.
Please, please, please.. give us something not screwed up every time! :-)

..same thing with r23503 (K2.6). Do you know if is there a chance to solve these issues, updating to K3.X (same revision) ?

When I loaded a k3.x build on a f7d4302 I had to do serial recovery.

I tried an update, like a kamikaze, with the v24-23503_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega, I came from K2.6 (same revision). The unit quickly complete the procedure and was not bricked but it just rebooted into previous 2.6 build. I don't really know how to carry on. Is there a particular build I need to switch first before try the latest build? (I heard it's something related with NVRAM partition and so on..)

update: ouch.. that build is just oversized (exceded 8 MB internal flash)

Ok.. reverted back to r18946. SSH, HTTPS and WIFI is working now, with encryption as well. Client Bridge mode is not. Please, anyone knows a build, a single one, where those modes are working stable together?

Yes, in r22200, as far as I see, SSH+HTTPS doesn't work ad so the Client Bridge mode (most important for me). With latest revision all WIFI has got broken..

update: maybe I made some mistake on the way to check some options, apparentely at least SSH issues was indeed solved in this build. Check this out.

perhaps I don't get what you try to do, but mine does https and ssh access.

I tried bridging with an older build without luck but it took me hours to bridge a Linksys with a Netgear (both Broadcom) and I had to start over several times without knowing what made it go in the end?! That was a Repeater Bridge.

So it's somehow confermed by you that Client/Repeater bridge modes doesn't work on all these builds.. (sorry, sure I did a mistake verifyng SSH+HTTPS in Kong's r22200, maybe beacuse for whatever reasons the web-gui often glitch and randomly hicups.. so you have to be very patient e be ready to hard reset every time some "esotic" options are applied and the router doesn't respond to ping anymore.. I tried 3 builds in one single afternoon and I don't feel anymore to come back just to double verify what you confirmed!)
Anyway, this article finally clear me up all this crazy stuff about different dd-wrt versions out there, I know it will be usefull to others to leave this here.

Difference between DD-WRT builds

Thanks for your support, guys. I'll wait next release to verify bridging modes all the way.

I don't want to say the web gui is always working perfectly but if you often have hicups a 30/30/30 reset should help, mine still remembered the key from 5GHZ radio! Therefore clear nvram from the CFE mini server did succeed in throwing the value out.

As you tried 23503 you could also post to the related build threats http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=257650&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 as they are usually busier than those old units threats. Sad
