Bridge Client with other Brand Of AP

Hi Dears ,

i have one Question . is it possible i make Bridge with other brand Of APs ?

for Example i have WRT54GL with DD-WRT Frameware and want Bridge it with D-Link or TP-Link or other Access Point ?

It'll work just fine as long as you follow the instructions in the wiki!

so Thanks for your Answering .

Now i have this question For Make Bridge it Must be both Access Point have DD-WRT firmware ? or not ?

for example : i can Bridge my WRT310N With DD-WRT firmware with TP-Link or Other Brand Without DD-WRT Firmware ?

The bridge unit needs to be running DD-WRT, the main AP can be running anything.

really thanks for your Answer .

Now i want know if i make bridge and join to other Access point i can Connect with Wireless to the Bridge AP ? or i must connect with Cable to bridge AP ?

If you set it up as a Client Bridge, only wired devices connected to it would work.

If you set it up as a Repeater Bridge, both wired and wireless devices connected to it would work.

very thanks

i did it and Set it as Repeater bridge .

but i see 1 SSID in my list ? is it true ?

for example my Primary AP ssid is : NetWear

and My Bridge AP ssid also is : NetWear

now in my Laptop Wireless List when i search i see just one NetWear AP name is it ture ? or i must see two NetWear Name ?

if its true , then this name is for witch one ? Primary AP or Bridge AP ?
