There are many Qs how to setup new samba in my 15200 builds (big and std-usb-ftp)

This is how it works for me - please try - feedback welcome

on NAS page, enable Samba, set server string to e.g. Samba Server, set the Workgroup to your e.g. WORKGROUP, set Public share = Enable, Read Only = Disable, Custom config = Disable. Apply.

Samba is currently reading /jffs, so please select mount point for USB to /jffs (if you mounted your USB to /mnt, you simply do mount --bind /mnt /jffs )

Now you shoud be able to see files remotly

how does this work if you have optware installed? would you do:

Code:
mount --bind /opt /jffs

or not need to enable it as optware has samba already?

which version has more features/is more stable? optware or the one in your new firmware?

thanx for all your good work Smile

Small display bug:

When visiting the Services-NAS tab, then clicking enable on Samba, the custom configuration fields are displayed even though Use Custom Configuration is disabled by default. By selecting Enable and then Disable on this option will hide these fields.

This happens in both IE8 & Firefox.

Ok... new test builds:

- you can set base dir now (like /mnt or /mnt/yourdir etc.)
- you can now write too if enabled
