ok, i've had it running dd-wrt fine for about 10 months, but today; all the lights are solidly lit up, and the reboot button does nothing. no pinging, no hard resetting, and no changes at all.

what gives, i thought bricking was only a factor during upgrades or flashing!

Typically, when a router takes a crap for no reason, it has suffered a hardware failure. Check the power supply. A ps failure is common. Swap it with another if you have one.

I successfully flashed to the recommended build on my V1. The PPTP server is broken though. I'd like to try out an OpenVPN firmware.

Would this one work?

http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24-K26/svn17084/dd-wrt.v24-17084_NEWD-2_K2.6_openvpn_small.bin

Does it have to be the _small build? The regular one is under 4MB as well.

Currently using DD-WRT v24-sp2 (09/25/10) mini
(SVN revision 15279M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko) on my Cisco e1000 v1. Everything works great except the HTTPS for web access (to be clear, I'm referring to LAN side web access, not the WAN side "Remote access"). I simply can't connect using HTTPS. Any ideas?

Flashed the firmware on my E1000 v.1 no problem, but I'm now experiencing a really annoying issue and I'm wondering if any of you can help:

Whenever a user wakes their computer from sleep and it reconnects to the network, all other users currently connected get bumped and are disconnected -- this happens regardless of wireless card manufacturer or type. Is this a known issue with this firmware? Any known solution?

On the 'Administration > Firmware Upgrade' pagehttp://192.168.1.1/Upgrade.asp I do not see a "Reboot." option. Is this reboot step necessary?

I upgraded to Ver.2.1.02 (Build 5) and still don't see a reboot option. Is http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E1000#Performing_a_30.2F30.2F30_Reset_on_a_Linksys_E1000_v1.0 really nececary or is it just a standard 30/30/30 http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Hard_reset_or_30/30/30

Forgot to say I was planning to use dd-wrt.v24-16785_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v1.bin from http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database. Is that the best current version to use?

It's not on the firmware upgrade tab. It's on the management tab all the way at the bottom. Right button.

Hello,

I'm new to dd-wrt and have a question. I bought a e1000 refurbed unit and flashed dd-wrt. I'm having an issue where when I download a big file on one computer at full speed, other computers sometimes don't connect to the internet. They work fine when I stop the download on the 1st computer. I'm not sure if it's a hardware limitation, defect, or something that can be helped with some dd-wrt setting. I hope I came to the right forum and someone can help me.

Thanks,

Hi,

I am curious to know if this is an issue with the firmware or the hardware and wondering if anyone else has had similar issues?

Using an E1000 v1 with V24-sp2 16785 (current stable release), if I unbridge the Wireless, create a separate subnet, and add a dhcp server for it, clients can not connect to the wireless. Various errors occur (different error SEEMS to depend on whether you are using VWLAN or not). Errors range from the client just saying "can not connect" or "Network key mismatch" even though the key IS right (quadrupled checked it).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On Firmware Version: 2.1.02 I used the 'reboot' button on "Setup" > "Basic Setup" at the bottom of the page in the "Reboot" section.

This worked and I was able to install dd-wrt.v24-15279_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000 I have not tested it yet though.

Hi !
I am running my E1000 V1.0 using " dd-wrt.v24-15279_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000.bin "

Is that the recommended version or is there any better build that we should use ?

Thanks so much !

I'm looking to flash the standard nokai build (As it looks like no kai is the only one that will fit on the flash chip...). Which build should I flash?

18687, or 18777?
