I can install the firmware and all go well except I can't get a stable wireless-N connection. I can get a connection of 130Mbps or higher at the beginning but it will drop to 5 (five) Mbps very soon. I *did* follow the wiki (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless-N_Configuration) how to configure the wireless N. Currently I have to set the e1000 to use BG-mode only so I can get a stable 56Mbps connection.
I read some other wiki that e1000 is identical to WRT160N v3. So I am wondering if the issue found in the thread is what I am experiencing.

well I'm new here and I installed the FW and every thing worked great after reading the wiki... the only thing I did that the wiki didn't suggest was I turned up the Tx signal to 90...
you should try the newest version of the FW for our router that might fix it...
Thanks. Definitely will try it. Just curious. Where are all these e1000 different firmware listed ?
Moving up to 16214 solved my WIFI problem. But I seem to be affected by the known loopback bug and need to manually add some iptables rules. Other than that, everything seems fine.

the FW updates are listed under the broadcom_K26 label in the downloads section of the router database... it too me an assload of time to find them myself when I first looked them up the other day because the E1000 isn't clearly labeled like the rest of the routers are... as for the loop back problem, I think there was a post on here somewhere about it I think up in the stickies I remember seeing it...
I'm looking at buying this router and run DD-WRT on it. Will DD-WRT improve functionality over stock firmware from Cisco?
well for starters the UPnP works on DD-WRT along with the static dhcp so I have 2 xbox 360's both online with both of them reading open NAT now... on the stock cisco FW I couldn't only have 1 with open nat and that's because I had to place it in the DMZ... plus I do love the bandwidth monitors and extra stuff DD-WRT does that stock FW doesn't...

I have created a bridge under networking. I have done the same on wrt54gs with different results. On the E1000 it does not allow me to set an ip address on the new bridge. I have tried putting in DNSmasq options manually as referenced on the multiple wlans page
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Multiple_WLANs I can connect to my primary wlan but the secondary one will not provide an ip address.

ok, i've had it running dd-wrt fine for about 10 months, but today; all the lights are solidly lit up, and the reboot button does nothing. no pinging, no hard resetting, and no changes at all.
what gives, i thought bricking was only a factor during upgrades or flashing!

oh and i was running the recommended build on the router database on the e1000 which was some beta build released a couple months ago; but i've been using dd wrt on this router since the first build was released in this thread
