I set up 1xWRT160NL as a "master" connected to our VDSL MODEM, DHCP enabled etc., IP 192.168.1.1
Then two "slave" APs, 1xWRT160NL and 1xWRT54GL as 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3 respectively.
Followed carefully all the instructions in the section on setting up APs.
Wireless clients can connect and access the internet from any of the 3 APs. If connected via the master, you can PING the two slaves fine. If connected via one of the slaves, you can PING your own slave and the master, but not the other slave. The setup means you cannot choose via which AP you connect.
We have 2 network printers (192.168.1.165 and 192.168.1.166) attached to one of the slaves (192.168.1.2) and anyone connected via the master or the same slave can see them both and print no problem.
However, connecting via the other slave (192.168.1.3) means you cannot see (PING) the printers (or their slave).
I'd appreciate any bright ideas on how to enable printing from the other slave router!
Thanks very much indeed.
LAN socket 2 of "master" goes to a network over powerline adapter. LAN socket 2 of both slaves then go to network over powerline adapters.
Same story when they are all sitting on one table with CAT5 cables going LAN to LAN sockets.
