What are the best wireless software settings using an external 14dbi antenna for a solid connection @ 250ft line-of-sight outdoors where the last 30ft to reach clients is through walls?
The TX Power reports 27dBm on wireless status page, but adjusting the dBm in the software does not change the reported value. (I am supposed to be able to get 28dbm out of the 2611p stock) How may this be understood, and what are the proper settings to make all work as well as possible. I am most concerned about getting the strongest signal possible at the end of 250ft. As long as client's TX rate is >= 24 Mbps I am satisfied. Does ACK have anything to do with all of this? Thank you in advance very very much!
-Build 13064
-Have tested multiple configurations on my own with no discernible results.
Hi 21Perfection. I am in the same boat as you. I have a 24dbi external antenna with about a ~300-325ft. span between devices. I've also tried several settings changes, but have not noticed a signal quality increase over what I was getting with the internal antenna.
Starting yesterday, I'm slowly going through some of the more advanced settings to see if they make any difference. Can anyone point me to a link/help file that can explain each of the advanced wireless settings that I'm looking at (using build 14896)? The tutorials on the wiki didn't seem to include a lot of the settings that I am seeing.
Hopefully someone with some more experience can chime in and assist us. I'll let you know if I come across anything beneficial in my testing.
