I have two Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 routers.

I'm very happy with 12533. But sometimes my VPN vanishes and I have to restart routers to get it back. This is probably due to temporary problems w/ the Internet service, I suppose. But it would be nice if the routers would sync back up once the Internet connection proved reliable again.

I noticed that 14929 seems to be the latest recommended firmware. Any chance this would improve VPN features?

Is there anything in 14929 that may work worse than 12533?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

The answer to all three of your questions is yes, but you can always try a different firmware or go back. 12548, 12874 and 13525 are all worth trying as well. None will hurt your router if you flash properly.
