I have several TP 1043 but when connected to an AP the power out always stays at 5 dBm ...

When scanning it reads up to 18 or 20 but drops to 5 dBm on connection. I can see this is the power output from measurements on my APs..

This happens with both normal and WISP (superchannel) units as I run a WISP.

This causes low received signals at the AP..

Any ideas please?

Build 14896

Thanks..

As title, your cryptic response I assume means to upgrade to the 15334 build that I see others have issues with...

WHAT does the antenna gain field do - does it allow higher powers if you put (say) -10 dB for antenna gain?

I would assume that is the case...

Anyone else have issues with power output please!?!?

I'm running 14896, and i've set my TX power to 20dBm and antenna gain to 3dBi. The Status tab reports it to be transmitting at 20dBm.

I'm running G-only, if that helps.

As title....

When in CLIENT mode, searches at 19 dBm ... when associated it ALWAYS jumps to 5 dBm.

Otherwise power behaves ok in AP mode...

Suggestions please??

As for now 1043ND with DD-WRT in N mode is not very stable, especially the client mode.

Thanks... for sad confirmation.

I have found the DDWRT revert to factory file and flashed two routers back to factory, then to the latest Open WRT.

I don't like Open WRT but it does (seem) to work; however is a lot more complex to setup.

It would be good if we had a DD WRT version for this great router!

Many thanks again.
